Sorry, meant to post this a few days ago, but needed to do something first, before I could do so. XD
Anyway, I'M PISSED. Wanna know why? Cause my new laptop, which I have had almost two weeks now (two weeks exactly later today), just up and broke on me. I don't know what happened, but after having to restart on Friday night cause of an update of sorts, something I did since the last restart caused one of my HDs (I got two of them) to stop working and not boot up entirely, until it just... stopped working. And somehow, said the OS wasn't found, and NOW, that message is gone and keeps showing everything that was with it again and again. *goes into a rant of how stupid computers are*
The only things I can think of are that I used my webcam to take a pic of... something for a certain friend (you know who you are), and that I also used it with Skype, after creating an account, to show him something else. But it's more likely the former, or that I got directed somehow to an unsafe site, by a so-called friend of mine, though not sure which. And that just seems stupid, cause I had antivirus protection, yet it didn't scan or alert me to anything. Seriously, computers are dumb sometimes. O_O
Anyway, am letting those of you who've noticed my absence the past few days on my messenger accounts to know that I may be back soon, maybe not. So you may see on my upcoming b-day, but maybe not, depending on if you can help or not with what I'm about to ask below. :3
I tried doing a search for a computer backup business on Google, but I didn't see anything with the words I was trying to use, and thus, didn't hit enter; cause I wasn't sure if would've provided much in the way of finding what I needed. Can anyone name some places that are like, all over the US, or some suggestions on what I should do a search on? I only ask cause after talking to the company I bought the computer from, they say they'll call back later today to set up something about replacing the defective HD, and I don't want to lose some stuff, even though I barely have that much that I'll lose (just some logs of chats, since I've been back, a few pics and maybe a Word file or two), but still! It's something I'd like to at least try to do, before it's replaced sometime soon! So, am asking if you know anything that would help, please tell me in a reply! Or if you can help me with a way to getting my files off myself, with the one HD being broken and not recognized or able to be accessed, that'd work too. :D
Anyway, I am sorry to those friends of mine that I was in the middle of some rps with, but hopefully, I'll be back soon and we can resume them, if you have the logs, if I can't get them or remember where we were (you know who you are). And also, am sorry to my friend that I did the pics and Skype session with, but not sure if I can do that again, unless I'm certain that I won't have a repeat of what happened. Sorry, and will see those of you online when I get this fixed! ^_^

Anyway, don't suppose you can tell me a widely-known backup store or what to search for, to find one? Or how to access the files on my own? Cause that's the info I'm looking for.
Like I said, it's more than likely hardware failure; it's a good thing you have warranty on it at least.
It's either that, or that I got directed to an unsafe link somehow or by someone I've talked to recently, that I wasn't aware of being unsafe (and I will say right now that e621 is unsafe, as it's always labeled that way with the protection my mom's laptop has, that she pays for; though I'm rarely on that site, just when you or someone else links me). Though I don't know why Avast didn't work for me in that case then, like you say it does for you. It better work next time, after I get this fixed!
And yeah, I guess, but I'd lose a few files and chat logs since my return, with some things I'd like to keep around, if only cause some of them are important. But eh, I guess I'll make do without, if you or no one else can help me with this issue and saving what few files I don't have, if only cause didn't expect to break it so soon.

You'll need to download the .iso from another computer, use something to burn an .iso to a CD or DVD, then pop that in your laptop. It'll let you load up Ubuntu as an operating system. From there, you'll just click Places in the top-right corner, then click "XX.X GB Filesystem" or something that looks like your hard drive. It will have all of your files there. From there, you can copy anything over to, say, a USB flash drive or an external hard drive by plugging it in and doing a similar thing.
There are some tutorials for using Ubuntu as a rescue CD if you use the Google, but that's what I would do if I couldn't boot like that.
That being said, I don't know if that would help though. As I may have failed to mention above, the HD that is busted (there are two, like on yours, assuming you still have the same one from few years back, mine's a laptop though) isn't even showing when I go to the setup screen while booting up, to try to view info and when I called Tech Support, they said that they couldn't get the info off if I tried using their software department cause it's showing 0GB for a part about Fixed HDD size or something... and also said that just re-installing it wouldn't fix the issue. Though now, when I try to boot it, it's not even saying that message anymore, don't what the heck is going on now. Either way, I do currently have a CD for Windows Vista (for my mom's), though don't know if would allow me to access the files I wanted to save or would work with the specs for my computer, since it came with Windows 7 Home Premium.
It's very confusing, since I talked to quite a few different people in order to try and resolve this issue. And what would I use to burn it onto a CD, exactly, if I did get it? Not sure if I have anything handy that would do the trick. And also, I can't just use the CD itself to download Ubuntu and access the files?
Still, thanks for the help, but don't know if I'll try it.... at this point, I may just settle for not getting my Pidgin logs back, since not many of them were important (main thing I want off, but don't know if would need them for future reference in an rp with a certain friend of mine, not much else I need saved beyond that, except for a few Word files I had on the desktop, also not major stuff). XD
Do I need to install it for it to work, after the first use? Since it seems I had access to everything the first time when I did it on mine (and my mom's, as a beta test), but now, can't do much beyond what's on the desktop. And I did download some .exe programs, but they weren't accessible for some reason (can't remember the exact wording, and can't access the Internet wirelessly like before, since as I said, refuses to work now). Though I only restarted cause I tried installing Pidgin after doing an Ubuntu update, to see if could get on tonight, even though I had my doubts with how it's different for Ubuntu, somewhat. Dunno if that's what's causing this issue on my computer (that I updated before restarting), though doesn't explain why it stopped working on my mom's, unless it's cause it downloaded the updates to the USB drive Ubuntu is on (it IS a little bigger now, in the portion used, I recently checked), but I doubt it.
Anyway, thanks for your help Zeph and sorry that this didn't work. Hopefully, I won't ever face this issue again, depending on what I do from now on on my computer, after I get the busted/now split (assuming that it's the same one) HD replaced. But I'll try to start backing up my files/logs a bit more often, so if it does, I only lose a minimal amount of stuff I consider to be important next time. D:
