Review
Hay,
I went to the movie theaters not too long ago and felt the need to write my own review on WB's production: Legend of The Guardians. Firstly I'd like to state that I haven't read the books...so unfortunately I can not give you an insight of what a former fan would think of the movie, however I can simply talk about the movie its self.
I'm certain that if any of you have seen the trailer to the movie, you already know that the graphics are gripping. The colors, detail, everything is absolutely stunning. As far as eye-candy goes...this movie has plenty. I might even go as far to saying it's better than Avatar's graphics (which by the way I didn't like that movie). Non the less I was very satisfied with how the characters were portrayed as well as the beautiful world around them.
There is a scene in the movie where the main character Soren takes flight within a thunder storm, and there is a moment when everything is captured in slow-motion. Every drop of rain appears like falling crystals and the ocean bellow is roaring and more realistic than ever. The young owl glides slowly on his back through a giant whirl wind, with the wind ruffling his feathers, his large owl eyes shining within the lightning's light and a melodious tune plays in the background. This scene is a perfect example of the film's quality...you can't see this movie and after that scene not be taken back by it at least a little.
Another brilliant eye-candy scene from the movie is a great battle, (which I wont give anything a way) but the fighting...was amazing. Metal talons, metal sparks flying, matrix moves, fire burning all melts in to one big giant ball of awesome. Though the film lacks in blood, the intensity of battle is definitely there and those who created the film made certain to show the audience every technique and move each owl warrior used. For instance, this is not just a mindless scramble of bodies clashing, this is a scene of various maneuvers and strength! I have to admit, the violence loving movie goer within me would've asked for some blood shed, but I am not disappointed.
The story-line is your basic clash of good against evil however not completely lacking substance. The characters you meet along the way are likable and enjoyable to watch, and dare I say the story much reminded me of Warriors by Erin Hunter...which is perhaps why I loved it so much. Though the story line is not too complex, their are some underlined meanings that are good to have in a film and as an audience helps keep the interest, such as war not being beautiful or glorious and our heroes not always turning out heroic at all...but to quote the movie: "just doing what is right". How certain relationships can leave two people who have grown up within the same environment still turn out with difference views..one evil and one good, and also how jealousy can be one of the most evil things in the world.
All in all I found Legend of the Guardians to be a pretty cool movie and quite worth your time. I'll give it a...8 out of ten for the story and characters, and a 10 for the graphics. I hope you all will agree with me when you see it :] enjoy

I have made a simple advertisement banner around 300x90 px...only problem is I can't afford to spare money to put it up on the FA sight. I'm looking for anyone who is willing to advertise my banner somewhere on their Facebook, Myspace, Blogger, Live Journal, or personal webpage for free. I may offer you a free sketch if I feel the need to up the reward. I simply am looking for more traffic for my art & commissions.

The image code needed to link the banner back to my FA page is here:

Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn
The wilted flowers that I gave
Not as nice as ~your bouquet
All the lyrics that I wrote
Not as smart as the words ~you spoke
Starlight above my hometown
Ain't as bright as the ~star I've found
Every drawing that I drew
Was never ever as cute as ~you...
