Okay, so I'm very bored. It's Saturday night. I have no where to go or be, and I'm sitting around in front of my notebook computer, answering questions on a personality quiz and browsing around FurAffinity randomly. My back begins hurting. So naturally I try to move the computer onto my lap, so I don't have to lean way the hell over to type.

Now all I'm left with is a cruddy old computer. Why is this bad? All of my freaking art programs and pictures I was working on were on that computer and without a power cord, I can't use it. Its battery dies in a half hour. It's useless. In other words, I can't color any requests until I somehow find a way to purchase a new god damn cord for the stupid computer. Okay, not a big deal, right? So I go to the website and find out the cords ARE VERY. VERY. EXPENSIVE. Why? The computer was made by a company who is very exclusive about accessories. So naturally it's their privilege to overcharge money for the power cord because it can't be purchased anywhere else. A new power cord costs A HUNDRED. DOLLARS. D:> Maybe not much to you, huh. But to me, where I am right now, it's going to take a LONG. TIME. So until I can somehow get that much money, all I can do are poor quality sketches. >< Because this computer was recently reformatted and no longer has it's effing scanner's driver disk. And naturally the disk had to end up lost when I moved.
Additionally my time on YIM and FurAffinity is going to be limited due to the lack of a way to have any privacy at all on this stupid desktop computer sitting in the front room. I'm not in a good place right now. Bottom line is, I'm stuck, and I can't do anything until I find enough money for a new power cord. That's all.

I don't really have any way of taking payment though. ^^; And I have that whole "I like to draw for the fun of it" thing going too .. Thank you though. I do really appreciate it.

I hope you are able to find a suitable replacement!
But it'd be faster than say a lan.
As if you use Ethernet you could use the cable from your laptops lancard to your desktop's lan card, and just network the two together, all you really have to do is share the laptops drive... an ignore it's complaints about insecurities, and simply access the files from the desktops (network neighborhood)/or it's My network places / and then computers near me, and then login with your administrator code. So user Administrator then password. Or your username / password for the laptop.
Then just navigate around the drive or simply copy the whole drive over, depending on how big it is....
If it's a big drive though, chances are you won't get everything off it before it dies.
Other option is if the powercord broke with the shielding peeling off, then you could solder/resplice the wires back together.
Anotherway less risky, is laptops have their drives located on the bottom of em, but you'd have to buy a device probably to access em, i haven't opened my father's up yet and i never owned a laptop yet.
But if it used Sata, then the satacable would be in your desktop pc (provided you have a board with that) it's a very thin looking cable compared to old IDE.
An if all that makes no sense.....
Just use a jump drive to take your most important shit off... but be thoroughly quick about it.

lucky me Dell ppl are idiots becuase they sent 2 different cables with the comp they were fixing for my grandmother.... and it was the same model as the one that was snaped in half^^
