Twitter for art? :O huh I never even considered that actually, I'll have to look into it. Tumblr is mad confusing to me lol, I don't understand how anyone finds what I post so far.

Twitter also has a mature setting so you can upload adult art as well

Tumbler is alright if you don't mind non-furs also checking out and commenting on your art.

Both tumblr and twitter are okay for posting art, they're kind of bad as galleries though, tumblr in particular is kind of annoying to use for feedback/responding to your audience. But it's a great supplement to a gallery

This, too. They suck for having an organized gallery but they're good for expanding your audience.

I see that, you just have everything you put up kind of smooshed together on one feed on that blog. I think that questions thing looks fun though where artists draw their responses :D

yeah that's a useful feature, but yeah unless you use tags everything is done chronologically and you have to just scroll through the feed, which, well if you post a bunch, takes a while

There's A LOT of furry content on Tumblr. I made an account during 2011, originally only to reblog videogame stuff. I wasn't "out" as a furry back then but little by little I started following furry blogs and now almost half of my dashboard is furry stuff. There are lots of artists but also lots of reposters, sadly, manh of which have lots of followers.

Since you have lots of old content you can post regularly, I think you can get enough traction to start getting followers who will reblog your art and then your audience will only grow with time.

I'm not 100% sure but I think explicit blogs do show up on searchs if people have that option activated.

Oh, and if it makes you feel any better, pretty much every person I've known who uses Tumblr had some trouble with the site at first. You'll get it eventually. xP

Oh okay, so you start getting attention when other users reblog your art on their furry art or personal blogs then? I think I'm starting to understand how Tumblr works at large finally. Notes are when someone else has reblogged something right? I think?

Notes are the total sum of likes, replies and reblogs on a single post.

A lot of furs post on tumblr but its like non-commission stuff usually. Its like freedom artwork these guys post. Stuff they like drawing and sometimes art dumping. If there is enough following, it will be viewed.

Every just has to be reminded about it. Not many read journals so maybe an art flyer submission would help a bit more than a journal.

Its a good place to drop your art at. Its like a shelf you put books on ;D.

Youre better off getting your commissions here. Furs are on tumblr but they wont come out to grab one from there. I mean, why accept commissions from Tumblr when they are originally from FA, right? ;3.

Best idea is to post stuff there thats no one will see here. Then that will get them to go there.

Well its simple, just use tags like "Bara" or "Furry" even "BaraFurry" and they will notice. Or wait someone BaraFurry blog to reblog anything you've done and POOF! you get likes/reblog like a maniac.

The filter its something new of this year, but its great as it prevent not register user to get in your blog if its porn.

So the key to it is getting reblogged then? I guess you just have to get lucky lol

Lucky & Point it out too. It may sound cruel, but Reblogger in Tumblr are like sheep: you've to guide them all the way.

I guess that is the only I can say too, at least for what I've notice too.

The other, its making "famous" furry character or "the furry of the moment" and they will come as bee to you.

Tumbler and Twitter are kind of horrible for getting noticed or sharing art. You end up competing with every other person someone follows, and their timeline format actively shoves things out of order.

I see that. It also seems really hard to get things moving from zero attention right at the start.

Your stuff is on tumblr already anyway, most likely by people who thought it would be cool to post it as part of 'compilations'. So by posting yourself, you at least gain control over getting credit and linking back to your other galleries.

Twitter has been rather useful for me, I also didn't think of using it for posting art for a very long time. BUT it is easy to reach users in asia this way, who may not use Tumblr or FA. So it icreases your audience a tiny bit. Both are only supplements though.

Haha hmmmm okay well maybe I'll have to make a twitter once I manage to figure Tumblr out x3. I hear what you're saying though, I've seen stuff from half the people I follow here on there already whether they seem to have a blog posting it themselves or not. I think I've seen at least two pieces of yours lol
