No, not Halloween, although that's fun too. Halloween doesn't need me to promote it.
October 21 is "International Day of the Nacho", in honor of Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya, of Piedras Negras, Mexico. In 1943, Nacho was running out of food to serve in his restaurant, so he put some cheese and jalapenos on tortilla chips and served them as "Nachos Especiales".
