Dude, I love her music so much! My uncle introduced her to me while I was up in Canada, and I just can't get over how gorgeous it is~ Right now I'm just obsessed with 'Mon Dieu' and 'Non, Je ne regrette rien'. Tell me somebody my age listens to her as well! There's gotta be!
Well, I just know some day her music's gonna get picked up for some Bioshock or Fallout bullshit and soon, just like Billie Holiday, The Ink Spots and countless others, she's going to be remembered for a video game rather than a social movement and her gorgeous voice |U Figures. Oh well, at least we still have Al Jolson, Bing Crosby and others still untainted by video game consumerism and the cult (and I seriously stress the word 'cult) followings they have.
Also on that note, am I the only one who thinks it's abhorrent that Billie Holiday is now remembered for Bioshock rather than being a pioneer in the civil rights movement and her tragic life? Seriously, look up any of her songs on youtube and look at the comments, it's so awful! "She was so cool in Bioshock!" "I love Bioshock!" "Bioshock is teh w1nz0rs!!!11!1"
