You Favorite Movie Monsters?
A relatively easy question to ask, and possibly even to answer; what are your favorite monsters from the movies? And by monsters I don't mean otherwise ordinary people who commit monstrous acts (so no Amon Goeth). I mean the imhuman creatures, the big, bad beasties that generally eat (or at least rip apart) us poor, defenseless, hairless beach apes.
There's lots of options to choose from. From the generally-human shaped (two arms, two legs, upright) you've got things like abominable snowmen (depending on the movie), you've got some types of wolfman, you've got the highly-changed vampires (think From Dusk 'Till Dawn or Blade II), and so on. Moving into the not-so-human-shaped territory, you've got everything from the shapeless wonders (The Blob or The Thing, the latter being a bit of everything, naturally :P) to the giant animals (either a huge, death-crazed version of a normal animal, like in Jaws or Rogue, or an entirely new creature, like the Graboids).
You all know what I mean. So what do you like the best? Will you seek out any film that has you favorite creature, no matter how cheesy/bad the actual movie is?

There are lot of reasons for my choice, but main reason is behind the word "Alien". Back then when I wasn't a English-speaking person, everytime people spoke about Alien/s, we always knew that we were talking of the Ridley Scott's Alien-movie Xenomorphs. Eventually when we learned the true meaning of "alien", most of us still had trouble brushing the image of Xenomorps away from our mind. This was because everytime when we spoke about "aliens", we always said that they were humanoids or simply "creatures from outer space".
Another thing what made the whole Xenomorph-species so scary, was simply the fact that we humans are basically defentless against these creatures. Worst thing is that it's totally our fault. But that's another story.
I think Aliens are still the most well done horror/sci-fi cretures I've ever seen so far. mainly because they actually look and act naturally most the times (especially during first two movies).
...And of course they did have a huge impact on my alertness-senses because I saw the first three movies when I ten years old. Oh the irony when my father finally let me watch me some awesome movies, I had to see the scariest/most stimulating-movies. Even though he had totally had denied my from watching any rougher movies a year before.
That one particular "Facehugger from the first seconds of Alien 3 still bugs my mind, since they basically show you that there's no escape from them (though, how on earth they missed the egg, is beyond my mind. I guess the reason is behind "because the plot says so"-rule).
I guess the first Evil Dead deserves a honorable mention too. While basicaly the monster is just evil "Aura" that turns weak minded humans into killing machines, that's still scary as heck. Scariest thing of course is, that the movies how cruel and destructive we people can become (this also goes for "Scanners"-trilogy which I haven't unfortunately seen yet).
The Deadites are an interesting example, as are all demons. They have no real 'rules' to follow, as in there doesn't seem to be any clear way to kill them or how they infect someone. They just do, and they are scary because of it.
I've only seen the first Scanners, though it seems like that would be the best one.
Oh, and Tor Johnson, too. ;)
