A Good Novel
I had been looking for a good novel recently, before picking up Watership Down. Excellent book! I'm going to have to watch the movie and pick up the sequel Tales from Watership Down, as well as His Majesty's Dragon.
Anyone else have favorites they'd like to recommend? ':3

...I'm joking!
Well, it really depends on what your taste is in books. Mayhaps you can pick up Raptor Red by paleontologist Robert T. Bakker; it's about this Utahraptor (one of the largest known species of raptor) and her pack during the Cretaceous Period. It's certainly on my to-read list! Jurassic Park is also a good one by Michael Crichton as well as Lost World, which is a sequel to that book!
Another one of my favourites is Phantom by Susan Kay. You don't have to be a fan (or "phan" haha) of 'The Phantom of the Opera' to really love this beautifully written book. It's about the life of Erik, the Phantom, before he came to the Opera House in Paris, France. You get to learn a bit about French history as well as Persian history. This book is written in first-person perspective and honestly, it never ceases to amaze me. It inspired me to write in first-person, actually!
And finally, you have The Silence of the Lambs...which was the very first thriller-mystery novel I had ever read. And I have to say, it's well-written and doesn't keep you bored too much. You'll certainly be in awe of the famous serial killer Hannibal Lecter. You have little snippets of him and the main character, Clarice Starling (a young F.B.I. in training), talking with one another and each time it's something to be impressed about. The interaction between those two is chemistry! With the main mystery of the book being Buffalo Bill, a serial killer who's attacking "roomy" girls and skinning them, is being pursued with the help of Lecter, who is giving a psychological profile based on the evidence the F.B.I. has found.
And before I forget...well, I'm not sure if you'll have the patience to read any Sherlock Holmes volumes, but the character is absolutely witty!
THERE. A list!
I've never found mystery novels interesting, though I wouldn't discredit them altogether- I'll probably give a Sherlock Holmees volume a go. And long books aren't necessarily bad. Some make you wish they hadn't ended!
I need something to keep me entertained while I travel! xp
