Guaranteed to put you to sleep faster than Ben Stein reading the periodical table of elements!
All right!
Getting down to business.
Originally I had three entries for my contest, which would have been a perfect number since there was three main winner slots. Well at the last second, I had some wonderful contributions from abluedeer and pandagu both, and their pieces were so stunning, I've made the decision..that everyone will get a piece in return from me as part of my giant mural ballroom dance scene! Sound like a copout? Naah! Everyone worked so hard and deserves it.
How the prizes will work:
I will draw and color the picture for you and upload it to my account with a plain white background. I'll do each piece in the order that they won, and once all of them are complete and uploaded, I will then place them in the total image of the ballroom scene, and upload the final, everyones characters, full background. I'll have a low res version available on FA, and a high res available on request, since I expect this to be a bloody huge total drawing.
On to the order of winners:

Emotion invoking, extensive, rich with lavish and sumptuous detail, and really excellent on sucking the viewer into the moment. Ami went above and beyond in drawing multiple sets of characters, and his dedication to this piece has earned him first place
2.

This was innovative and classic at the same time, with special attention to detail on the costuming and the composition. Eira's hair, especially, is a marvel of artistic talent, and deserves much applause.
3.
pandagu With her entry http://www.furaffinity.net/view/703576/
Wild, passionate, full of the motion I was looking for, my Zephyr and her fursona caught up in the throes of a country dance, enjoying one of the main recreational activities (and one of the only!) they had in that era. The dresses were beautiful, and her use of perspective and the sheer amount of folds in that dress, just wow. She's amazing. It definitely makes me wish I lived in such a time and place!
4.

This one really amazed me due to the creativity used in creating the background. The angels reminded me of the same sort of statuery that you would normally only find in a Batman movie, and you have to admit Eira has been romanced quite charmingly! I really liked this piece

This scene was especially sweet and struck a note in me for the adorable use of her Kitsune Prince with my Felicia, and the style of dress Felicia was drawn wearing reminded me of the austere beauty of Audrey Hepburn, I was very honored to recieve a piece from Misora, as her uploads are usually a week or more in between. Thank you for that special attention!
That being said, if there are any further questions, just let me know!

FA+

All of them deserve great kudos.
Ami: This is a wonderful depiction of a ballroom dance. My gosh it was such a large picture, I didn't even realise there were two other dancers. Just a wonderful job as a whole. The shading and lighting mesh perfectly. The expressions on thier faces gave me goosebumps, especially Eira. She really looks to be entranced with her partner.
a_blue_deer: You have such an elegance about this picture. Even though it only took you one day to finish, it is very hard to find any mistakes. Looking at thier feet I see actual dance steps, they look like they are in motion. They look fixed on each other in that moment lost in each other's eyes.
Pandagu: This one made me smile just for the sheer joy involved. You have great detail here. The focus in the background puts all the attention on the dancers. I like this one in general because the clothes show it in my favorite era in time.
circut19: There's great emotion in this one. Sometimes a kiss can feel like being between life and death. The balcony supports really help the symbolism. And the coloration give it that frozen moment in time feeling.
misora_hunter: I had to smile with this one, mainly because I taught my 12 year old niece how to slow dance. You deserve much kudos for coming up with the cutest one.
amiralaesirs work is a shear master peic i had to zoom in and spind several minuts going over it to see the full extint of detail that wint in to it. every squar inch is full of the most stuning atintion to detail i have ever seen.
abluedeer fabulasly done i am at a lose for words when it comes to thies peice. a purfickt mach of detial and simplisaty. my hats of to you
pandagus work was vibrant and alive full of coller and life. like at any pont in time the caracters will start moving agen and continu on with there vibrant daince. very cool ^.^
misorahunters art is cute to no end i realy like cut things ^.^
I'm rather ashamed mine doesn't have a background. *sigh*
I try, I honestly do, but it seems I can still only draw picture floating in space.
amiralaesir's work is as beaufitul and astounding as ever, the attention to detail and sheer size had me working my mouse unmercifully.
abluedeer's was done with a very soft theme and color job, expressing without words the smooth tone of the music behind the two dancers.
pandagu's made me think of a lovely garden party, with lively music and good friends.
circuit19's passionate scene could only be described as a night torn from the very pages of a storybook, a whimsical, yet quite real happenstance.
