To My Fellow American Voters (and non-voters)
If any of you are considering voting for right-wing candidates, for republicans, or even for a tea partier, and further to those who are considering not even voting this election because you're so disillusioned with the past two (or ten) years, I urge you to watch this:

So maybe you don't always agree (or maybe even like) Keith Olbermann, but when he needs to make a point, there's no denying the finitely sharpened tip with which he carves it. America voted in a black man and centrist and we've seen the worst of the worst crawling out of the woodwork to denounce him and everything he strives for. Then, the republicans, even some formerly respectable republicans like John McCain, have taken to cracking open the chitinous bodies of these virulent "conservatives" and sucking their entrails down like a fish drinks water, all in an effort to cling to their power and money and influence. The lies, the slander, the flat out racism, and the mind boggling claims that would leave our founding fathers vomiting in their graves out of shock and disgust are so out of hand and have taken such control of even the saner, more rational, and moderate among us who would, in any other state of the country, have the foresight see these people as the mindless, fanatical zombies they are, that America is in danger of losing so much of not only what it has gained but what it stands for.
I'm not about to endorse Democrats. I'm as disillusioned as anyone else. I'm as angry as anyone else. As an independent and moderate, I'm appalled by the fact that I truly lack anyone representing me and others like me. But god fucking damnit if I'm going to sit idly by and watch these scum of the earth, who stand against everything I stand for and against so much of what makes this country great, all in the name of the corporate hands stuffing their pus filled wallets, take over this country.
Republicans flat out cannot be trusted any more. They've made their bed with racists, war mongers, hate mongers, fear mongers, xenophobes, homophobes, hypocrites (to put it very lightly), fanatics, zealots, nationalists, corporatists, con artists, scam artists, sexists, and quite truthfully domestic terrorists. I feel like I die a little inside voting all democrat. I sure as fuck wish it was different. But I dare not consider the consequences of them losing their majorities.

And they don't like middle east or Muslims they say? Isn't this the exact same thing that happened to Iran back in the 70's? (May be exaggeration on my part but you can see the parallels can't you? This is a big elephant-in-the-room issue with me)
Yes, every candidate will have followers and supports who truly believe in them, just as they will have those that truly despise them. It is those in the middle who cast the deciding votes, and it has become an almost depressing state of affairs that these votes are cast on who is liked less.
This is why politicians run negative adds, despite all the complaints about them. They know it works when they don't have anything outstanding about themselves to promote. So, just make the other guy look worse.
This time around, Congress has the lowest approval rating in history. For whatever reasons; whatever truths or lies; people despise them and are willing to give newcomers a shot, no matter how insane they might seem, just to get the incumbents out. It's not a matter of who they want, but who they don't want.
Many of these Tea Baggers are going to win. It's a simple matter of public outrage/opinion and the numbers. All I can suggest is to find something sturdy and hold on tight (rat tails are not acceptable choices), and hope the ride at least stays on its tracks.
I almost want to see just how America would react when we have a congress that not only doesn't do anything because it's too partisan to work with Obama suddenly doesn't know shit what it's even doing to begin with. Maybe Obama will luck out and the tea partiers will be so inept that they just get walked over. At the very least I hope the Dems hit 60 senators, at least THAT might happen.
I voted for Obama, though, just for the record, and not necessarily against McCain, and I'm comfortable voting for the democratic senator and congressman in my state and district because they seem to have level heads on their shoulders (and out congressman's been doing a fine job, too, unlike the ass we kicked out who wants his old job back). The state government people are just, "They're not republicans" mostly because I don't know all the candidates enough to make a clear choice nor have I had the time to bother beyond some literature. Would be quite the day indeed when we vote because we think they';re a good candidate, though. Maybe we'll luck out, just maybe, and see some proper reform, some REAL legislation done against special interests, and a full legislative reversal of that bullshit supreme court decision.
Being a big minotaur, me thinks I can take it, though, but a little rat like you might be in trouble. I've got a safe place, if ya ever need it ]:89~~~
