Writing help

Howdy, folks and folkettes. I'm currently working on a novel (hence why I don't post anything) and I'm running into a bit of a rut. So how do you guys who are writers deal with that?

Cocaine. Worked for Robert Louis Stevenson.

And Hunter S. Thompson-oh, wait, that's exactly why I would avoid drugs.

Hey, sometimes compromise is in order. A handle of Jack outta loosen creative cork and allow the words to write themselves. Its also tasty.

Honestly? A break might help. I'd also consider working on some side stories, or something unrelated. A lot of the times, ruts with writing come with working on the same thing for too long.

I can very easily see that point of view, but I have trouble getting ideas for side stories. Plus, I want to have this stuff done by FC.

Well, if you can't gather the inspiration to work on it, you won't be done by FC. Worst comes to worst, you don't get to, but how many people can say they write a novel to begin with?

Good point...it really does depend on the thing I'm working on. I have large scale inspiration, it's just taking a while to get over the hurdles in the way.
