I go to college--specifically Southeastern LA University:

Mass Communications and Journalism.
I absolutely LOVE this curriculum. Getting involved in the Media has always been one of my dream jobs.

Of course I can't afford it. I don't think anyone in the middle-class can! But that's why there's state-funded tuition, scholarships, grants and loan programs.

That was exactly my point of asking if anyone wants to go but can't afford it, because there's so many programs out there to pay for it, and I see alot of responses on other places of people saying they wish they could go to college but they don't have the money, and if they're in the US, it can all be taken care of, so there's nothing standing in their way! That's one of the reasons why Amiral wants to move to here, actually *snickers*

Your degree plan is definitely a fun one. My grandfather is the head of a photo-journalism department at a major university, and I always loved watching all the students who went in for any form of journalism. Add in that communication part, and yowza, you'll be a media fiend!

I am not in college.... tooo busy looking for a full time job to have time for college..... .plus here in the UK its stupidly expensive!!!!

Yeah, everyone I know in the UK says getting a full time job is bloody impossible, and if you don't settle down to something with a connection from someone helping you get it early in life, you're essentially screwed = /

I am in college. I start back on the 20th though. I am in a general studies/math program atm but I am thinking of changing to the research field or maybe vet tech field. What is your degree plan?

School in Texas always starts a bit later than most places, because literally campuses don't want to run the AC in the most hot parts of the Summer, it's just too expensive, so they push back the starting date instead, sometimes as late as the middle of September XD

Well, with a general studies, you can get your core cirricula out of the way so that once that's taken care of, you can move on to ANY degree you want. Vet tech would assure you a lucrative career for life, if you did research, what kind? Biology?

You can always take core classes till you figure it out, those apply to every degree, and are mandatory

I have went to community college and droped out after one of my teachers said this was to below me and my skill level, and that I wouldnt get the proper training i needed. Or the degree cause i dont think they offered Degree's.
Now i was selected to go to the Art institute shortly after however due to circumstances, i was unable to go after i had arrived and actually saw the school (broke my damn heart)

Since then ive read books talked to other artist and bettered myself on my own time while working and not working.

Would i like to return to college?
Yes and no, I would like to return to college where i can get the PROPER education in the feild i want to go into.

No, simply put the AI institutes are prolly 100k for the full thing now, for prolly the same thing i could get at my community college, it just prepares me for the business end.

NOW!!! however, If im still living in this area and decide to continue living in this area, and the coalmines reopens after the rockfall last month, I might go back to college to learn how to be a above ground operator for the vent and oxygen controls.

All in All, I belive in some way i could within the next year if i continue learning and improving get a job doing what i love as long as i show the skill and dedication. But honestly, its gonna e a rough road but im willing to walk it :3...

Well, ye know I'm in community college myself. My plan is to take up Digital Media with an emphasis in Animation (that's actually the name of a course at Webster University which I plan to transfer to to take up). Right now I'm taking up core classes and hopefully next semester I take up art/drawing classes to get me started down my path. I start classes next Monday.

You can achieve it, and prove to your dad that you're going somewhere with your life ^_^

I'm going to start college on the 4th of September.
Although it's not college in the normal sense. It's in the same class, but it's more focused on working with the industry.
My education is going to be heavily focused on creating software, so I will actually be working with some companies as part of my education.
As far as I know, they don't offer any degrees. The point is to actually get some insight and experience how it is to work in the industry, and also maybe develop some contacts in the process.

Also money isn't any problems. Here in Sweden all certified high school and college class education is free for Swedish citizens.
The only thing you need to pay is the materials like books etc.

So I guess I'm all set.

Yeah you could say that. Every year we have time scheduled where we spend our education at companies of our choice. Although we contact them ourselves, but we get a bit help with it.

I did a couple of semesters of Film and Television Broadcast but there were some factors that drove me to give that up. Now, I'm just in limbo to restart classes for radiology.

Communications? For some reason I had you pictured in the medical field like a nurse or something. I dunno: my imagination runs away with me once again!

I'm going for a bachelor's in biology and if the fucknuts at my school had told me they don't offer such a degree, they offer an associates in chemistry, not biology, I would have the stupid thing already.
