thank you because I will admit I studied EWS and Ferris in 1999 then from there once I got how its done I built my own style. Alot of artist I know are afraid to admit it, but I will.

Shit, I'm still learning! I study about 70% of the people I watch in an attempt to fix little things; I might borry eyes from one person's style, mouths from another, trying to learn how to adjust it to my own style. I mean, I stare at  touchmybadger's art to get an idea for body language and such a lot :3 Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, so borrowing a bit of somebody's style is just saying " I dig your art!"

yeah and no matter of how a professional artist you are your still studying and learning, only way you can stop and be a master is when your dead.

first off, it's -not- a trace, then, there are obvious diferences, even the way the body faces, the setting of the arms and the placing of the arms, also details on the head, much much diferent from a copy, though it would have been nice to source the inspiration, I don't see much of a problem in here

You CAN'T copyright poses.
You CAN'T copyright body parts.
You CAN'T copyright copyrighted characters.

Non of these can be done yet somehow, people claim they can do just that and ooh my if your art has something they might have thought of or you where inspired by there work. You'll go to hell for that!

One has to wonder how healthy the art community as a whole is as more and more artists as well as people around them get super paranoid and stupidly protective for no reason.

One should look back at the old days when art masters made his students copy his style, way of colors and play with it and learn and once they graduated or deemed good enough they went there own way, found there own twists, turns, styles and colors for there works.

Learning from other peoples art or getting inspired by it is a huge aspect of learning to draw. Pull that away and you would barely have anyone who draws anymore.

i do that with poses. what i do is get the picture to the size i want. put a piece of paper over the monitor, and just do a VERY basic frame style ( line and circle frame for limbs and joints) over.

Heck I know Marvel artist that still do that too.

People should look and enjoy the art if they like it, instead of worrying about if the pose is traded, the style is similar to another artist, the character in the pic looks like another person's character and all that crap. I can't understand why a bunch of well done (or not-so-well-done) lines and colors on a paper can sometimes bring drama to people's mind. Art is what it is... art. If you like it, look at it and enjoy, if not, just don't look. People should act as simple as that.

trust me I learned that with all the bullshit that overflowed from that site. They are thinking that I am gonna leave the fandom because of it, yeah I had thoughts of that ,5 YEARS ago.
