RP ideas from Doom

Science Machine: text wall away
Doom: A foundry in the industrial district of town has gone silent. (Time frame is modern.) Cue the cliche no one knows why, and toss in a little mix that that a small police force was sent to investigate. They reported a massacre on the site, a few small personal firearms and spent shells are littered about. Bodies have suffered mutilation from non-conventional weaponry. The gashes and rips are far too clean to be anything from an animal. Radio chatter is comprised of nothing but idle chatter, a quick remark questioning what the shadow was doing, and then screaming and combat. Security cams show little, but do get a good scene of a completely black figure casually walking towards a police officer who has a gun pointed at it. The police officer fires a few rounds, which seem to do nothing to the figure. The officer makes a dash, and the figure peruses off cam.
Science Machine: is this means of members to kill members or for us to work together?
Doom: The RP'ers are to be sent in as a heavier investigation squad. Basically, a riot squad with no riot. They are to stick together in at least groups of two or three, and maintain constant communication. They need to assess the threat and nothing more. Killing it is not part of the mission, so failure is an option. However, the superiors will not look kindly upon it so there is incentive to neutralize the threat or at least provide a reliable way for them to kill it.
Science Machine: well that's good, i play writer and note-taker in a lot of these RPs
Doom: It means members are to work together in the environment, I'll paint scenes and if they investigate something specifically. (IE, Squal takes a closer look at the break room, specifically the bodies) I'll provide info.
Doom: There will be a 'baddy' and it won't be a simple game of "fire bullets, achieve victory."
Science Machine: perhaps we set someone to start set-pieces?
Doom: Guns will be more of a deterrent/slow-down.
Doom: Set-pieces?
Science Machine: as in, someone will state a danger in the local area and state its actions
Science Machine: a narrator almost
Doom: Huh, I guess that works. I'd need to cooperate heavily with them though.
Science Machine: i mean more along the lines of them just stating whats happening and not being an actual character in the story
Science Machine: more flitting between characters and obstacles that mean to deter the team
Doom: That is what I was going to do, kinda; but also try to control a character at the same time.
Doom: The protagonist that is, not the good guy
Doom: The main protagonist is a morphic creature who can reform at will. Physical attacks will do nothing other than disorient it, people will need to think chemical and form a trap.
Science Machine: yeah, that works too, so long as you don't snow yourself in with roles to play
Doom: Have you ever played any of those old text adventure games?
Doom: I was only going to take one. Everyone else is free to do as they please.
Doom: In those text games, the player typed stuff and the game reacted. Like /open drawer; and the game would respond "You open the drawer slowly, and inside is a few items."
Doom: I'd be taking the role of the game, everyone else the player. They give input, I give output.
Doom: I may or may not take the role of very, very minor characters that should not be interacted with by other RPers. The protagonist, the entry-vehicle driver, a survivor; etcetera.
Science Machine: i like it the more i think about it, we could make an RP last longer with this
Doom: Ja, because the only way it can end is by the narrator, or if everyone dies, which shouldn't happen unless they do it to one another.
