Painting panel for FC'11?
Sooo, I know I ask this every year, but if I were to do another painting demo / panel at FC'11, what sort of material would folks be interested in seeing covered?
I don't know if it would mostly be folks who were kind enough to show up in previous years who'll want to see new material, or if new folks are going to come and want to see my sort of core process, or what. I'm happy to talk about whatever people want to hear, but it would help to have some idea ahead of time in order to prepare for it ^_^
So yeah, let me know your thoughts! Even if you're not going to make it to FC, I'd still be happy to hear suggestions <3

I shall stop fanboying now. :P
But yeah, covers. :)
also defining edges without lines?
I know this kind of thing is pretty fundamental but I am having a devil of a time with em!
But I'd love to see you do another tutorial! :)
By perspectives, I assume you mean drawing the figure from different angles as opposed to mechanical perspective drawing? Honestly, any time I want to draw a figure from any kind of nonstandard angle, I immediately turn to reference, whether it's photos or asking a friend to model. I wish I knew some trick to just knowing how the body works from different angles, but I pretty much have to check and see ^_^
Yeah... ^^ sorry, should've cleared that one up. Yeah... I wish I knew some tricks too. Guess it's really basing it on actual reference then. I keep looking for a certain pose... the angle from below (kinda like a worms eye view) but my search was futile. I saw a few pics that could act as the pose that I wanted... but they are not the same in a lot of aspects. Do you have any websites you go to for poses and or references good sir?
And for the really tricky perspectives and poses, I always go to my digital camera. You can scour the net for hours and never find just what you're looking for, so it's usually easier to just ask a friend to pose for a second while you snap a couple of photos. If you don't have a camera, they're available for quite cheap these days (and it's not like you really care about image quality, considering you just need to be able to see what's going on). I know it can be a little awkward to ask friends to pose (especially depending on the pose 9_9), but I find that people are usually game to help out <3
Ahh... that's right. I've been searching for several hours already for the "right pose" but it always have this anomally so to speak with the pose you are actually looking for. So, there's no other choise but the camera huh? I could try that. Too true... cheap ones would be fine... but if you are getting a camera... why not a better one for "other" purposes other than for art LOL... Oh... and yes... that would be very awkward. I tried the mirror thing... it's quite hard LOL Thanks for those wonderful insights... I'll make sure I take note of those ^^
Anyway a panel by you would be fab even if I didn't get to see it, i'm sure you'd be helping lots of folks out.
