Piano Music...what is my favourite?
Well, Uni is now officially over till next year, so more music should be written! Hopefully...
I also went to a few recitals of my peers and there were a few piano recitals! There were two recitals with a piece by Lutoslawski, his Paganini Variations for Two Pianos, which sounded amazing, so here's a version on youtube I'm ordering you to listen to, it's amazing!!!!

But it got me thinking after discussing it with my friends...what is my favourite piano music? I have listened to a lot in my life so far, ranging from when the piano was first invented (no offence to anyone's tastes, but I found that music, Mozart etc, to be quite boring. :P) to music written in the present day.
I'd have to say, that Lutoslawski piece mentioned ranks very highly! I also love Ligeti's Etudes, especially No.13 "The Devil's Staircase"!
Crumb's "Makrokosmos" is very interesting as well, full of extended technique!
Bartok's "Allegro Barbaro" is awesome too!
And Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" arrangment for two pianos!
And a piece by Chopin, which I forget which one...:P
But darn, I can't choose a favourite favourite! They're all so good! Anyone have a favourite piano piece they'd like to share?

I think the good question would be:
1) What is your favorite style?
or even better
2) Which songs do you play as fidelly as you can ?
I think that when you're in love on a song, you try to play it as similar as possible.
It, of course, is my opinion and point of view.
Nice song on the link btw :3
