Boundries By Association
This is only the second Journal entry I've written since joining over 2 years ago. Today I need to say something about how I deal with my artistic "boundaries" when it comes to favoring other artists here at FurAffinity.
There is Japanese-style "DID" art that I like, and my drawings show what kind I like to draw. I also draw DID art that you never see done in Japan, since it seems that nobody over there cares about quicksand (bummer).
There is also art drawn for Japanese fans living in Japan and other Asian countries that I would definitely never draw.
I try to pay attention to what my FurAffinity friends are drawing when I add their work to my Favorites collection. Some have drawn pictures that are more "adult" than I would draw myself, but nothing that I thought were extreme enough to avoid.
But when a friend posts drawings that I think are too extreme, then I need to take down all their links from my Favorites collection. This is because I feel that the limits I set for myself need to apply to what I endorse here at my own site, at least until the artist has a change of heart about what they display to others.
There are other characters I've created that may/perhaps/someday be marketed mainstream. For this and my own subjective boundaries, my Favorites collection needs to be consistent with what I would draw myself if I had the talent.

I'm think it stands for Damsel In Distress, or something along those lines.

Right. There's a huge amount of 'Damsel(s) In Distress" art here at FA. Not everybody refers to it just using 3 letters. Sorry for the confusion.
