If You Give a Thylacoleo a Memory Upgrade
(with apologies to Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond)
If you give a Thylacoleo a memory upgrade...
His CPU core temp will run too hot.
He'll want to cool the chip off...
And order a heavy-duty heatsink.
The heavy-duty heatsink will be so heavy, it'll come with an additional supporting mounting bracket for the backside of the motherboard...
Which will not fit in his case's slide out motherboard tray.
When the moutning bracket doesn't fit, the Thylacoleo will replace the old case with a full sized high air flow tower with a cut out specifically for backside support brackets...
And about a half dozen mounting points for additional casefans.
When he's gotten LED-lit casefans for every open mount, he'll start to wonder just how much cooler all that airflow is making things...
And he'll notice that the full size tower has more 5-1/4 bays than he'll ever use...
The Thylacoleo will get a back-lit flatpanel diagnostic screen to mount in those spare drive bays...
And find out that he has cooling to spare, even when dialing the fan RPMs back.
He'll be curious to see just how hot of a processor those fans could handle when dialed up to full speed...
And decide that it's time to upgrade to a 6-core beast of a CPU.
The CPU won't fit the current motherboard's socket...
And so the Thylacoleo will get a mobo that does.
He'll find out that the motherboard supports memory with a lower CAS timing...
And the Thylacoleo will want a memory upgrade.
This is one of them.
It's hilarious how true that is though. XDDD
