And something of an apology, if I did indeed strike a nerve with my last journal.
I myself do not frequent the forums. What I knew of this most recent development was told to me by someone I know, who as it turns out, had blown it out of proportion. I guess my pessimism got the best of me.
I myself did not support the recent cub ban. Not out of someone misguided belief it will somehow destroy the site, but because it reeks of a precedent I'd rather not have happened. As I said in that previous journal, I had mentioned to others that Sonic porn would most likely be next because it sits at the top of a slippery slope.
Canonically most of the characters are underage, and therefore against the rules. The proposed sollution is to "age them up", so they are no longer against the rules. There are two problems with that though;
1. I wont speak for others, but I personally, will always favor Sonic characters drawn -properly- over them being converted into a body type that can actually be aged up. When both are on offer, I'll take both, but if I'm put in a position to choose one or the other, I'll take them drawn properly every day of the week. If I have to go to another site for that, I will. It shouldn't be hard to figure out why that matters.
2. Subjective judgement. Aging sonic characters up makes them acceptable under the rules. You can -claim- "intent", but what it actually falls to is appearance, because they can't -fairly- judge intent. This in turn can be applied to any character who's appearance makes them appear underage, against the artist in question. Some artists draw characters in a way that makes them seem young regardless of their intended age, some characters simply have features and charactoristics that make them seem young.
I am yet to hear how exactly the judgement falls on original species as well, for that matter.

Number 1 is an opinion you hold personally, so I wont touch it.
As for Number 2. I honestly have no clue what your getting at here. As the rules already state if they look under age they will be treated as such, I don't get the point in stating character that look underage. Are you referring to the concerns that many Chibi, Gurlyboy, and "overly cute" artists have? Drago already discussed this. Chibi art wont be touched, nor will "cute" art. It has been stated that they will only purge any art that is quite obviously and inarguably cub. Drago has stated that if there is a disagreement between artist and mod, the mod team (though doubtful from what I've seen) will do their best to try and cater to the artist.
My concern is abuse of the letter of the law to serve one's own purposes.
After that whole episode I doubt Inuki's work specifically would fall into their dispute again, besides which her style has changed a bit since then, but sooner or later it's going to happen to someone else.
