wow! so very awesome! love the painty, traditional feel it has! kept me guessing if it was drawn or rendered for the first 30 seconds or so. want to see more :D
That was a very nice, well done, stylized animation!
The video wasn't completely original; I can't seem to find it but there is a somewhat old (5 years) music video thats about the same thing: boyfriend has deer antlers and the girls father tries to kill him. Admittedly this is much better, but its quite the same story/ plot.
Thanks for introducing him and this team :D
Truly a wonderful experience. Nice animating style, kinda reminds me of a cross between Zeno Clash and Team Fortress 2. Yet, it still maintains a unique style overall.
They specifically added a shout-out to the TF2 team, so I figure they either drew heavy inspiration, or actually wound up using one of their shaders or something <3
I was impressed. Any more, there's always a team of French animations students among the nominees for best animated short at the Academy Awards -- they're crazy over there <3
If only they made a series based on that shark and those two rhinos, I'd be ecstatic! :D
...also, I'm sad that NO ONE ELSE IN YOUR JOURNAL FEELS THE WAY I DO ABOUT THOSE CHARACTERS! I always have to be the one that thinks outside the box, don't I?~ >:|
That is simply lovely. Wow. The color palette is pitch perfect, and the texture ... everything looks like it'd come from a storyboarding goauche painting. Especially stills. I find myself pausing it at regular intervals, and just marveling at how it looks.
Oh my GOD! Thank you so much for posting this up. ~.=.^ So do you like animation? I've got some to show you, but don't know if you've seen them. There's one by Disney called Presto, you heard of it?
Dude, who doesn't like animation (especially here <3)?
And yeah, I saw Presto for the first time when I went to see WALL-E in theaters! It's super cute, and totally had that classic Warner Bros. style comedic pace. I was actually really lucky to get to go see the director/writer Doug Sweetland present it at an event leading up to the 2008 Academy Awards. The creators of the nominated animated shorts all came and talked a bit about their projects.
Speaking of, have you seen the short that won that year, La Maison en Petits Cubes? It's super pretty/poignant <3
You are so luckily to meet him! I'm happy to see another person with love for animation and visit the festival in there spare time. ^.=.^ We had Paul Mendoza from Pixar come to the Bradford Animation Festival were he did a talk about his work on Pixars "UP" and some little talks about his new film he's working on called "Brave" @.=.@ It was really awe-spiring and just made me wanted me to progress with Uni course. (Computer Animation) >.=.o Oh I shall watch Cubes now, it looks like the same style as this other animation I saw at the awards.
Nice, dude! And best of luck with your animation coursework. It's a ton of work, but there are few things quite so rewarding as seeing something come to life like that ^_^

Seriously though, that short is fucking epic. Just goddamn beautiful.
My partner was like "I don't see the big deal" and I'm like "THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"
(Please do not actually break up over this.)
(Or will it???)
A while back I found some random french short animations too, like this :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Zm.....layer_embedded
The kids that school is cranking out are freaking wizards.
Here comes the Buck porn.
That is the *best way* to physics.

This animation short makes me squeal. Mmm.
