the first rule of a writer - never ever compare yourself to others. We do it, it's human nature, but what we do is our best so we should never ever get discouraged. Do you know how many times I have heard, 'I always wanted to write a book,' by people who just had to say that when I told them I write as a hobby? Though they might not mean it, it is a put down of what you do.

The same goes for carving. Don't do that!

What I've learned in any art trade is, "There's always someone better than you." No matter how good you are, and it sucks to be reminded of that when you view pretty art. That doesn't mean what you do is bad though. I love your carving! Art is a trade that you learn every time to do something, so don't compare yourself to someone who's made hundreds of more projects and has a butt load of experience. You're good too, and others think so too, and that's what matters. :3
