Just save it as a transparent PNG and use VTFEdit to create a spray from it: http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=178 In the program choose File -> Import and save it as an VTF file

Ohh ok will try that, I was using these tutorials and they were telling me to save it as TGA or something.

This tool also supports transparent PNGs as far as I know, at least that's how I did it, if you want to send me the file I could do all this for you

I use Photoshop to save them in TGA. TGA supports alpha channel so it's possible to make a gradient transparent effect. Of course, if you already have the PNG with transparency, just like Morphus said, VTFedit does a great job. But if you need editing it in Photoshop, saving it in TGA will allow you to add it in TF2 right away.

Done it with a PNG and sorted now hehe :D

Now, does anyone know where on a windows 7 machine you would put the spray to be able to use it in the game?

Oh yeah copy the thing, then...

Local Disk > Program Files (of them folders, mine's X86) > Steam > Steam Apps > "(Username of your steam account)" > team fortress 2 > tf > materials > VGUI > Logos > in Logos paste one there, the folder called UI, open that and paste it there too, should work better when you import that way.

Nah, that folder isn't there on Blu's compy... I thought it might be because it's different with Windows 7. Maybe not.

In your "Start" menu (Windows logo on task bar) or on your Desktop, go find your Steam shortcut, Right click on it and select "Properties". You should see the path where Steam is installed. From there, check back the path "Steam > Steam Apps > "(Username of your steam account)" > team fortress 2 > tf > materials > VGUI > Logos" and copy your VTF file there. Or if your image is a TGA file, just launch TF2, go in "Options -> Multiplayer" and add the logo there by selecting your TGA file.

The problem is the VGUI folder doesn't show on  deja-blu's directory. But are you saying that you should be able to put a TGA anywhere on the compy and she should be able to select it?

Hmmm, you can always create the folder. It`s not there probably because Blu never added custom decals. But yes, you can also do it the normal way, selecting the TGA file does the trick too.

she did try creating the folder, but it didn't work. I'll try the TGA way with her and see if that works ^^
