My husband an I are going to be in San Fran for the week prior to the con. We're going to be flying in on the 10th, and would love to meet some locals in the week before the con. Would anyone be willing to put us up for the few days prior to the con? Also, would anyone be interested in meeting up in the run-up week, either for a meal or for any other fun activities in the area?

Hehe, I hear that. I'm lucky to know a few people going, plus I've got a little core group to hang out with need be. Still wouldn't mind meeting up though ^^ And it doesn't hurt to ask them, you might luck out.

I'm just as eager to find some people who know the place and would like to spend a day out. It's easy enough for us to hotel it and just spend the days with friends.

That is easily done. Since I live about 10 miles from the hotel, I wouldn't have much difficulty there.
