as you may or may not be aware, furaffinity has recently had some issues due to exploitable security holes, resulting in the possibility of leaked notes and so on, so before i step any further into what i'm gonna say, go ahead and clear your notes of anything personal. addresses, phone numbers, non-public IM stuff, and so on and so forth. remove it from the trash folder, too, stuff sits around in there forever.
onwards.
twice in a 24 hour period (maybe just a few hours more? i don't know), FA had been compromised from an administrative standpoint. a small portion of my work was altered, but all was thankfully restored due to whatever backup system FA uses. obviously, this is unnerving. you could go ahead and say "who cares?" since this is not a huge landing page for my work, but it can still make me look bad if somebody messes around with my stuff. not a good thing. it's a security issue, and i'm not exactly enthused that there were two nasty, nasty breaches in a 24 hour period.
one of the breaches resulted in a mass leak of notes between moderators / administrators and users that may or may not have broken site conduct, yet had the admins / mods take sides with them. i don't take too kindly to this. yes, the breach and personal attack was immature, lame, and venomous, but administrators and moderators not following the site's own code of conduct is all the same. the police aren't above the law, and neither are the lawmakers. administrators and moderators should obviously not be above the rules in the same fashion.
so these are both bummers. the site's backend is full of holes, and the people running the site may or may not be the most trustworthy. i'm not exactly decided, as i haven't been glued to the situation. i just know that what i have seen of it is shitty.
many months ago (7!) i was talking about cleaning my gallery out. people have created backups of my entire gallery up to at least that point. i'll post the links to that stuff below after this. the point is that i'm stuck deciding whether or not i want to be an active member of the furaffinity community. not the furry community - please note that. i love the furry community and fandom. i can't immediately think of a more interesting, creative, and overall great fandom to be a part of. furaffinity and the furry fandom are two very different things, and this can't be stressed enough. furaffinity feels less and less like an ideal home for my work, as i have much better outlets for my work (all of which can be easily found from www.renardqueenston.com). am i leaving this very second? no, absolutely not. this is just me considering it. i just hope everybody can understand why i'd even think of it.
just know that i want to - no shit here! - from the bottom of my heart, thank everybody who's been following me from the beginning here. this was the first place i started to post my work online, and i got a great kickstart from a wonderful group of people that offered help along the way. i probably wouldn't be making music for a living if it weren't for you guys. i've got a lot of big plans for the future. all i can really do is say "thank you", and let you folks know that you played a huge part in me ending up where i am, and doing what i love with my life.

That totally sucks. I am loosing another good artist, as well... It's up go them weather they leave or not, but I respect their wishes.
And yet the dA staff takes his side and lets him keep going. The fuck? They also let a lot of other blatant, obvious rulebreakers run around dA being jackholes and take forever to ban them... only for them to come back and keep jerking around for months while the staff twiddle their thumbs or fap to the aforementioned porn artist.
No wonder dA is everybody's favorite trolling grounds.
I'm sad to see people consider leaving; I hope this whole thing doesn't wipe out half the AWESOME INDIVIDUALS population of FA. I AIN'T BUDGIN'.

I want to stay connected to the furry community, but I agree that people need to stop linking the two. FA is not the furry community, it's just a hub. It's a site that is supported by the community and this whole mess is like spitting in our faces.
I'm really just disgusted with this whole situation. And yeah, it's been almost 2 days now since it started. Why isn't the site shut down?

Not arguing, I think you're right and they really *should* do this. But I can imagine the high pitched screams of furry anguish it would cause and I can imagine no one on the mod team wants any of that. (not that the current situation is any better)

Everytime FA has had a security breach, my account is never touched. Glad for that, but i will not be surprized if there are more breaches.
Were you using a strong password? Dictionary passwords is a guaranteed "omg guess my pw!"

It doesn't matter how strong. There's such a thing as copy and paste, and i find it works with most passwords as well.
I've tried it with my own.
That said, apparently FA has some security loopholes to fix as well. I know zip about coding, but that's what I've heard many people say.
They make mistakes, no one can program perfect code, etc.
Its not just about fixing loopholes, its about learning from mistakes and how to prevent future mishaps. That takes time, no matter how high up you are.
I just hope they analyze what went wrong here, and learn as much as they can from it.
You really have to have a passion for coding if you want to even understand it.
Coding is an art in itself, we just often don't see it as such.
I can only say that you were one of the main reasons I joined FA, firstly by discovering Mungyodance, then your music. :3

In other news. Holy shit, this is a pile of I've not read enough and don't quite understand yet. But from what I gather, I completely understand why you'd consider leaving (and now I need to find out more info and decide for myself what I wanna do). Either way, keep in touch for sure.

If the admins and staff aren't doing their job to keep the site secure, who the hell is? Why should I have to become a victim of this kind of crap for their mistakes? I just want to say that your music has impacted my life as much as when I first discovered Ministry of Sound... and thats saying something.
Still, stay active on Youtube or something - I'll need a way to grab you incase some shit comes up. Who knows, maybe you'll get around to your label in the future!

I'm slowly coming to the realization that I might have to pick up and move out, I'm just uncertain on where I would settle seeing as most furry-oriented art sites specialize in traditional drawn art, and not anything else (IB in this case).

Even when I dislike the stylistic choice you take for X song, Y album and Z part, what it does is get me thinking--"How could I do this my own way, but better?" Maybe it's just that you seem more like just a regular furfag like the rest of us that makes you seem like a bigger inspiration than the other electronic artists I idolize, but something about you has always just made me feel...I don't even know how put it into words. My personal suggestion would be to wait it out, man. A lot of people are familiar with FA, and the layout for music here actually invites people to play the songs far better than Youtube or Bandcamp. It's good for tipping people off on a new album or what have you. FA's a great hub when it works. xP

If/when you leave, I'll definitely keep in touch. Aside from being a talented musician, you're a great guy that's just damn fun to hang around. Any other musicians I've spoken to only reply to peddle their latest album or tour, but you've taken the time to listen what I have to say, and even bullshit about video games, energy drinks, and the possibility of your friend turning into a pumpkin in accordance to modern scientific theories. I may have gotten into VulpVibe and LapFox for the music, but I'll be sticking with it because you're a good man that I truly respect. And for the music.
Just promise me that the "Renard X Jackal" series will be preserved forever somewhere. They were literary masterpieces capable of shaping an entire generation, but if we were to lose these mountain-moving stories, the world would be at a loss.
Personally, I don't really know of any way to stay well in touch with the fandom without FA, but I wish you luck in your move.

Download parts 1 through 8 (minus 2 obvs) and remove .part1 from the name of the first archive. Extract to its own folder and ignore any break errors. Delete the archive once it finishes and move on to the next.
Note, the first and last songs in each archive will be lost potentially because they are truncated by the split-rar process.
Otherwise, everything save for that small amount of lost data should be 100%
