*clears her throat* Ahem...seriously. Wow. Really. I go away from this place for like a week and I come back to over 300+ messages and alot of them are about: OMG I'M LEAVING NOW! THE SITE GOT HACKED! BYE!
*arches a heavy brow over one midnight colored eye* Um hello? This is the Internet? Everything is hackable the last time I checked. Emails, this site, any site, whatever. So people got hacked...shit happens. I got hacked last year...my email. Did I whine and cry about it? No. Yeah, I was angry, sure. But I dealt with it. I immediately changed emails, alerted who I needed to, and went about my business.
*Sighs* Yeah, yeah, I know. An email is different than a site. Sure. You can all just jump ship and run off with your little tails tucked firmly between your legs off to another site. What will you do when that one is eventually hacked? If one or others can hack this place, what makes you think the other places are more secure, hmm? What then?
And some might say, 'well, Khyrs, it sounds like you're defending FA'. Maybe I am. Inkbunny is alright, I guess. And so is SoFurry. As well as DA. I'm a member to all of them, actually. So you know, regardless of whatever site gets hacked, I'm a member to all. I'm not sticking up for any specific, but I don't really see the purpose of abandoning one JUST because it got hacked. Say all eventually get hacked, where will you go then?
I've had a shitty week and it's not getting better. So this little speech I'm letting out is actually rather mild compared to the rage that is seething within right now. All I'm saying to all of you that are going to read this, and there aren't many of you that really do...mostly because I'm not offering free shit or anything like that...just consider what your actions are before you just give up on this place. Yeah, I know it has its rough patches, but its kinda like a well-lived-in home: it's comfortable in a tolerable kind of way.
At least, it is to me. And that's how I prefer it.

It just makes the hackers wanna do it more.
