Back From the Holidays

"Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them."
-William Shakespeare
Well, Christmas in Nashville with my brother was fun. Spent a lot of time playing games with my family, from Wii Sports Resort and Tiger Woods 2010 (of which my muscles are still feeling that 5 hour run), to several games of euchre (of which my brother is either poor at or just had horrendous luck two nights in a row). Don't really get enough family time, and we had quite a lot over the last few days, to everyone's benifit. I think I might be up to writing more lighthearted pieces in the near future, though a continuation of The Devouring Shadow is currently on my plate for FA work release.
However, we were in for a surprise when we got back. After an 8-9 hour drive, we get back to our home in michigan. Dad opens the front door...and it feels just as cold in the house as it does outside. As it turns out, mom accidently turned the heater off instead of the program, so rather than keeping the house around 62 degrees to save on gas, the heater was off completely and we returned to a house that was only 41 degrees inside. When it's getting dark out, that's a bit chilly. We were wearing jackets until the house finally began to warm up. Yeah, not very funny, but an easily remedied situation. Just one of those things I suppose. Still, the fact that was the only thing to go wrong, as it were, was certainly nice, and there was no traffic stopping snow on the way back like last time.
So here's to hoping everybody elses holiday was just as happy and relaxing as my own, and here's looking forward to a new year with a fresh slate. Oh, and for those of you wondering, my new years first-real-nonschool related-art-I've-done-in-years is on schedule. I should have it up new years day before I leave for the annual new years party/family eucher tournement.
