What akaiguma does on New Year's

My little get together actually went pretty well! (I'd like to think...)
The following fun was had:
-Took a nice long walk along the river and through town
-Drank about 8 different beers, a spiced wine that was super sweet, and champagne, of course. I liked pretty much all of them except 1
-DM'ed some dungeons and dragons... though due to the aforementioned beer let's just say it wasn't the most focused game ever..
-Played a round of settlers
-Baked an apple crumb pie
-Watched the 2009 Star Trek movie. I'd seen it but two of my friends hadn't.
-Watched random stuff on netflix, including several animes (Soul Eater doesn't look half bad) and the two best songs from Anastasia
-Sang some impromptu choral music a capella
So yeah... it was pretty awesome. But now it's New Year's Day! And according to my mom's old superstition, whatever you're doing today you'll be doing for the rest of the year. So here's a few things I plan to do:
-Pay my rent (starting off on the wrong foot here) -.-
-Write some music
-Draw a little bit (yeah, it's embarrassing but I'm trying to learn >.<)
-Get some practicing done (trying to learn guitar and I'll drum a bit as well)
-Get a little bit of writing done
-Read something as well
-Talk to someone I haven't before
-Learn a couple more kanji/do some language drills
-Play one of my many video games I haven't beaten yet!
I think that should about do it! Hopefully I can keep most of this stuff up for the rest of the year.

この漢字をわかりますか? :)
ちょっと分からなかったけど難しくないから考えってすぐに分かりました。
Haha sorry, my Japanese is pretty weak but I'm trying to work on it everyday >.<. Hopefully that wasn't too nonsensical.
I knew 字 but I'm going by grade level and 漢 is a third level character and I'm still on grade 2 T.T
Thanks for helping me practice!
Let me see if I got your meaning. "I don't quite understand, but because they are not difficult, if you teach me, then I will understand them easily."
If you do not own it already, I suggest buying "A Guide to Remembering Japanese Characters" by Kenneth Henshall. It's a great book (and many times downright entertaining) that explains why the different characters mean what they do, and offers some extra mnemonic devices that might help you remember them. It's not really a dictionary. Really helped me a lot, and you can impress your Japanese friends with your knowledge of kanji etymology. :)
I've heard of that book but never actually picked up though I think I will with your recommendation.
がんばって下さい!
