meh,we are evolving, it's just going so slow,we don't notice it, some people are still being grown with tails, others bald, I guess humans are slowly splitting in evolution,I mean, I think we're going to evolve in the direction of Gray
Typically, it takes at least ten generations of repetitive conditions to jump start an evolutionary change. The conditions we live in now are vastly different from those of only two generations ago and wildly different from those of ten. We are at the point now where we can adapt our lives to fit any new technology, it is our current peak, we won't see any noticeable physical differences until technology stops evolving. (and I don't just mean computers and the like, I mean any new tool)
WHAT ABOUT the humans who live more naturally in the wild? Like tribes in south america?
they still look the same as we do now, they don't need technology.
I just think we are unnatural and can't evolve, I personally don't think technology can make us evolve, now if we go into space and live without gravity then.... maybe, but if we stay as we are now then I don't think so. Not physically anyway. <:3c
They do need technology, they use tools and make new ones as they deem necessary, they too are evolved to fit the tools they use. Technology isn't just a term for electronics.
Since we make technology to fit our abilities, it makes sense that it we've evolved to adapt new tech into our lives.
Some have pointed out that so-called 'primitive' peoples are generally smarter than we 'civilised' ones, on account that in their society, if you're not smart enough to survive, you don't. In OURS, if you're not smart enough, you got welfare :D
My friend! You see those 'natural tribes' who've been living as humans have been living for TENS OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS still have those tens of thousands of years of evolution on us. This whole farming experiment that mankind has been trying has only been around for like what 6-8000 years or so? That's hardly time to notice any change in our evolution, ESPECIALLY since we're such an intellectually adaptive species, if we NEED a change, we MAKE it ourselves instead of waiting for evolution and natural selection to take its course.
You see, someone once pointed out to me that evolution is a process to the bare minimum, not a path to the ideal, of survival. Sure it would be IDEAL if humans had wings and could fly, but since we've been able to survive and reproduce without it, we didn't evolve the ability to fly.
well it's kinda hard to explain like.. hmmm like how they physically look <:3c it's something about the way we look that hasn't changed.. at all.. like people have small differences depending on where they are but we.. are just... the same DX ugh can't describe it!
It's like we aren't changing at all. physically. I think we are mentally.. who knows maybe oneday we will grow giant heads *shrug*
There are physical changes, depends what's considered attractive
In medieval times a lot of women had smaller breasts because it was fashionable to have them small and set far apart, and now women's breasts are getting larger because of physical attraction. Likewise back then people were shorter and everyone had a different face shape
we can't expect to evolve overnight, to a certain extent humans still have to go through natural selection, we just decide that growing fur or wings or an extra bone isn't normal and should be removed with surgery.
We're still adapting to our surroundings and will continue to do so. I doubt evolution will ever stop.
but that depends on the 'race' as one would call, there were taller people back then too, as there are now, in different parts of the world
surgery doesn't fix people, it's like... deforming people to look better
but we have always looked the same :C many have different features, yeah but they've always been that way
I listed one example of how evolution has taken place, this does not apply for everyone, but each race has their own story. As a general rule though, humans were much shorter than they are now. They adapt depending on needs, for example people living in high altitudes don't NEED to grow taller and doing so would only bring them further away from oxygen, however people in Africa have built leaner bodies in order to make their way along a flat and harsh terrain. Evolution is happening now, will happen for as long as any species is alive, and has happened. The point of evolution is that it adapt to needs of the current people. A current example I'd say is that people seem to be getting more 'beautiful' or society's standards anyway, because people breed with pretty people and tend to neglect 'ugly' ones.
and no, surgery still means they have the defect in their genes, but it will contunie to be removed or fixed and while it occurs it's not as obvious.
I guess what you're getting at is 'people have not changed from their hairless bipedal forms since the beginning of the Homo Sapiens rule' and that would be a better way of saying it, but to say people haven't evolved at all would be wrong, since even minor changes are important, such as how stocky or lean or short or tall someone is. You could say the same thing about most animals.
Yes yes I know all of that, since i heard about the moth thing in elementary...
'people have not changed from their hairless bipedal forms since the beginning of the Homo Sapiens rule'
yes that was exactly my point.
but imo i don't think humans evolved from homo-type apes.. idk they just kinda.. showed up... we're strange, man... STRANGE! but that's just my opinion though. I don't think we will evolve from what we are now.
small changes like that matter THAT muchsince it happens in just about every animal.. but i wouldn't call it evolution, something that has to do with evolution, but not a full-on evolution, unless we start changing into different... 'subspecies'? (but cool nonetheless)
I do not think we are capable of evolving further. I am not even sure if humans are -from this planet- oowwwoooowoowowooo. not really THAT hard to believe that some alien DUMPED SPERMS all over earth and humans showed up and the ones not eaten by tigers became DERP billgates and barakobamas.
We actually are. It's just hard to see, Blonds will be extinct in the next 100 years or so. due to it being a recessive gene trait. There are some people today who are immune to the aids virus due to their ancestors surviving the bubonic plague. Our life span has increased dramatically and our breeding is giving us a more diverse look. <:
I remember hearing on some NPR program about research finding that monkeys have been evolving far more than humans have. to which paula poundstone went on an anti-scientific rant about how IF THE MONKEYS ARE SO EVOLVED HOW COME THEY DON'T HAVE OUR TECHNOLOGY, which just goes to show most people don't even know what evolution is. arghgh.
species evolve when they need to survive, and seeing how there's 6 billion humans running around everywhere on Earth, I guess we don't have any trouble surviving at the moment.
When apes were evolving into man there was a time period where they didnt change much physically. Its believed this was when they discovered tools so they didnt need to adapt as much to the enviroment. We've changed the enviroment around us to meet our needs to we dont have to change.
actually they do. although evolution and adaptation are made practically pointless thanks to culture. although this is the anthropological view on the issue. it's still unknown how evolution takes place. some think it's extremely gradual and stays that way. others think there are random spurts of rapid evolution that interrupt the long process of mostly dormant (slow) evolution. there's evidence to support both but lately there's more to support the later of the theory's.
Yeah, I've thought about that lots too D: It's probably because whenever we have the little mutations that set off evolutionary steps, tails or whathaveyou, it's KILL IT WITH FIRE IT HAS FAILED. Or they 'fix it'. That actually pisses me off, how people can't perceive the fact that some things are meant to be... :T
Once civilization collapses and natural selection rolls back in, I'm sure the evolutionary traits we've been simmering under the lid will flourish once again.
Here's just hoping that social order and such doesn't take a nosedive within our lifetimes. :P
I read an article about this, and we are actually evolving. Doesn't have to always be physical. We are immune to so many more diseases than we used to be.
also HEY I SEE THAT COMMENT UP THERE ): how cruel, my mom and sister are blonds...
so you mean gray alien are future humans who traveled to the past?
QWSLMX;KLCXMKL;DM;LKDS
maybe.. we are legendary creatures and don't need to evolve?
they still look the same as we do now, they don't need technology.

THANKS YOU PROVED YOUR POINT :X;; <3
