Well, I finally got to experience what everyone complains about Microsoft for. My XBox (not 360, don't have one) has never failed, nor had my PS2 or Game Boy alpha and my NES only died when I had rental game putzed it up. However, my 2nd gen PS3 (60 gig full soft/hardware backwards compatable, etc) has gotten a Yellow Light of Death, or YLoD. It's of course past warentee, and I would be loathe to send it to Sony for repair even if it wern't for fear of the probable loss of my hard drive data and the possibility of not even getting the same generation console back. Cost prohibitive as well.
There's a ray of hope though. My dear mate found some info on how to fix the most likely problem yourself, and info for a company out of Salt Lake City which charges much less than Sony would to repair it, even with a money-back policy, minus shipping charges of course, if they can't fix it. So, no Fallout3/New Vegas, no GTA4, no DMC4, no RE5, no SC4, and no watching the few blu-ray's I have un til then. Joy......
Bright side is that this will force me into finishing a bunch of Wii games I've been neglecting, and maybe go back to some PS2 games for awhile.
