I AGREE WITH THIS JOURNAL

I only unwatch when an artist starts having really huge fits over even the tiniest bit of insult from a random person, like if one person kindly points out a glaring anatomy mistake the next thing we see is a removed artwork and a huge ranting journal about why people should never EVER dare to give their wonderful art any negative critique. But I only unwatch if it's done like 3 times, and I don't say anything, I just stop watching them. I check back every once in a while to see if anything changed, but the one thing I notice about those artists is that the art always starts to plummet in quality, or they just keep making those whiny journals to try and guilt trip their fans and get asskisses.
People should not have to feel guilty for trying to help, and other people should not support someone who thinks that. I've seen a lot of people who meant absolutely no harm get bombarded by artists' fans simply because the artist pointed them out and cried about it. I'll favorite their art if I see something nice, but I don't want to watch someone who will fill my inbox with whining and art that they refuse to improve on.

i think everyone's personality is reflected in their own art - hence, if you don't like the person, you like the art less. or maybe (this has happened to me, only once) you are emotionally affected by the person and think it's better for your own sanity to expel the person from your life.

while it may be petty to unwatch someone because of their personality, who unwatches someone else solely because of their disposition? given they don't post irritating journals on the half-hour. i think there are a myriad of contributors when someone decides to unwatch an artist they previously liked. e.g. a change in personal taste, a disinterest in the artist's current projects, wanting to clean up their watch list.

in essence, i wrote a bunch of bullshit out to conclude that i agree with the main ideas in this journal. |D the only mature reason to unwatch someone is because they don't like their art anymore.

What about the people who you only watched them because they were your friend? but you didn't like their art per se??

That's a different circumstance though. I was mainly referring to when someone unwatches an artist because they don't like their personality. I can understand if they unwatched their friend because they were no longer friends and they didn't like their art, but if they were complete strangers, and they had watched them for their art in the first place, I don't see the purpose in unwatching them because they don't like the person they are.

To be fair, a lot of the time, when I dislike someone, their art looks ugly to me :/ I don't think I've personally unwatched anyone for their views, only for the actual subject they started drawing, but that's a little different than them being a bad/mean/whatever person.

It just depends on how bad something they said/do was. For example, I was watching someone for awhile until they announced that they were into bestiality, like for real for real, and then, even though I liked their art at one point, every time I saw it, I couldn't help but think about that little fact and I had to stop watching because I was disgusted, but that's more like... 'I associate your style with your comments' kind of thing.

On the flip side, if someone is like, super conservative or something(since I'm liberal), I don't immediately flip out, bash republicans, and then go "I'M NOT WATCHING YOU ANYMORE".

Like you said in a comment above, it's just... different situations.
