My Strange Addiction
A new show called "my strange addiction" is on TLC now, a new episode airs on Wednesday evening at 9pm featuring a girl who claims shes obsessed with fursuits, spending all waking hours talking fursuit, building them and wearing them.
A few websites I browsed had a quote from Kiira saying: "I said many times that it is just a hobby, not an addiction, but they said "Well take you anyways" So I had about a week to make two fursuits, and they just filmed me in various places and all. Even though my fursuits suck in the episode, I still got $1,500 and 15 minutes of fame, which is more than many can say."
Let us hope they don't turn the story around too much. We shall see.

Oh well Guess I'll have to wait until wednesday :)
I dont say stuff sarcastically when its about serious things like this.
I'm actually sad that she had to do that.
I'm not all that sad, she has a horrible attitude and cares nothing about the fandom.
That's why I'm not sad about her leaving things...I think it is for the best.
Yeah they shoulda looked into it better before they filmed.
She was probably the only person willing to do it o.0
Yeah, seems like the media is out to get us, not put a positive light on us.
People who arent in the fandom usually dont watch that stuff and the stuff on the TV.
Is usually depressing lies.
Or in this case, I'm sure (just like all the other furs who wanted their 15 minutes) this'll be more "flame" than "fame".
I much prefer the Canadian media and how they deal with it - http://www.halifaxnewsnet.ca/News/1.....the-fun-of-it/ - This was from Halifax, Nova Scotia 5 days ago, a great article :)

:D
At least she's got the right idea to leave the fandom. She'd be bombed with hate after people read that if she stayed.
I mean, yeah, there have been a few news media articles about us that weren't insulting. But the majority of Furry coverage, especially on TV, have either been "Fur And Loathing" or Chewfox. Individual fans have got to avoid the media, that's all there is to it!
Episode 7
Name: Lauren A.
Addiction: Wearing a fur suit
Lauren can't imagine going to a party or social event without wearing her fur suit. She's completely dedicated to her "fursona" — designing and sewing her costume well into the night, it even takes priority to finding a job.
"I’d love to get my side of the story out. I have left the fandom, though I still do make costumes and occasionally go out in it with my friends who are also furs. I just don’t associate myself as a furry anymore. But they totally twisted everything, I can just tell by the preview. I told them I only go out maybe once a month if that. I never bring it out around people that aren’t furs, and I never once brought it to a gathering or social event. Yet they say I can’t stand to be without it for one minute. I know my video will just provoke the community more, but I do need to get my side of the story out regardless. I’m glad there are still some people with common sense in this world."
Lauren Atkins aka Kiira
...are we being compared to couch cushion eaters now?
...like seriously..
This show sucks.. and so does the sell-out fur who appeared on it.
A woman eating Ajax!! Seriously?? Apparently all the warnings on the freakin bottle meant nothing to her..
I'm sure Fennecfur is a grand gal, but asking just a few questions to the producer or any member of staff would have opened ones eyes to the true nature of the show. That and the first thing anyone said to me was their names and the title of the show. I know legally (as I signed many documents for the show) she would have known at the very least the title of the show before being asked to take part. And with the title being "My Strange Addiction" most would be leery of the subject matter for any episode.
