I keep wondering if I should give up on posting on DA or FA or just both all together. The first two days at MAGFest were a bit depressing as no one wanted to buy the prints I took with me. It wasn't until a day or so before that after I printed them out did I get overly excited, something I always try not to do before cons, and ended up a bit depressed at the table. Also I wasn't very hungry though ate with John ate. Turns out later last week it was me catching the dreaded flu! I don't blame the con since I don't usually get sick from cons and the week prior my father had the flu. So yeah.. First two days were sad and overwhelmed.
Saturday we took a much needed day off from the table business and it was so wonderful.. <3 One bonus I get for dating a guy who needs to interview people for a show is to follow him around and meet the people he meets. After watching the last few minutes of a pannel, we headed to the first floor and there was this punk/emo looking guy standing at the end of the hall looking this way and that way asking, "female..? We need another female..? Really no females?" Considering we're in a hotel in a con that's pretty much 95% a dick fest, there weren't many girls. So I glanced at John, shrugged, and raised my hand. "Uh, female here?" I honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into. The guy looked eh, to my offer. (I think he was hoping for someone skinnier, but fuck 'em.) He said they needed two girls for this skit that's only a few minutes long with the Jon st. John. (Squee!)
For those of you who aren't old, or not heavy/hardcore gamers, Jon St. John is the man who does the voice for Duke Nukem. I think he has been the voice since the third game or something.. But he has THE voice most guys would fawn over because of his BALLS OF STEEL!!!!111one
So much to my shock I was going to be next to this famous guy. I quickly gave John my bottle of Bawls to hold as I went to do this skit. Basically it was Jon with his arms around me and the other girl (who was surprisingly small and short. o.O; ) walking around the corner and run into the punk/emo guy as Jon and the guy say some funny things like, "Oh man I missed you're pannel! I thought you were having one! D: " And Jon would say something back like, "I did but I was a bit busy, right ladies?" He grin at us, the girl looked lost, I'd pretend to giggle and make smirks at the guy like, "oh yeah~<3" It was all for a good laugh though. I love a good joke. But like I said, it was short.
Afterward my boyfriend nearly pounced on me because of how epic he thought everything was. If you don't believe me go to WNESONANR.com find MAGFest Saturday's show and the very first thing you hear is him squee'ing with joy that I was in the clip. And then you can hear me squee.. But after that I watched John interview Wes Johnson. He's a pretty nice guy really. Then a few minutes later we caught up with Jon St. John and John got another interview with him. (To much typing John... @_x; ) It was really fun. The guy is a really nice guy. If anything go to the WNES site just to listen to the interviews. Also if you love game music or chiptunes you'll love it as well.
