Stories, Afghani Food & The Minneapolis Sound

I want to start off by saying that Furaffinity's journal entry thing sucks ass and is evil. I have never lost two journal entries in a row like that before. It must be cursed, because I still don't quite understand how both freak accidents occurred. From now on, I use Text Edit and copy and paste. My honey has already blown fire on the offending FA journal thing.
Now, onto my oft-reschedulded post...
I'm writing again! I have been on a long dry spell, and now I am blooming like flowers in Spring. I have been working on various things which I soon hope to have organized enough for posting. It's felt very good. In particular, a story I have just begun springs from an idea I've had bouncing around in my head for a long time now. The funny thing is, it's coming out completely different from how I envisioned originally. Funny how things work out, isn't it?
I'm also planning to pick up the drawing pencil again. For too long have I had images in my head that I couldn't put down on paper. These aren't the kinds I would want to describe in words, as is my normal inclination, but photographic images begging to be drawn. My line art seems all right -- at least, my sweety, who's going to teach me to draw, seem to be jealous at how good my beginner's line art already is. I yet may be in for a lot of pain in my quest to make exactly the images I want, but I figure that's par for the course in learning a new skill.
"Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that which he has earned, and he is punished for that which he has earned." Excerpt from The Qur'an, Sura 2, Verse 286. In other words, you get what you put in. :P
Besides, I've wanted to do gift art for Taoren for a long time, not to mention my favorite snuggly wolfy Cam, my sweety Rahshu, and the mysterious but friendly Flatrat.
My job recently gave me more hours. I had to fill in for someone else, but I was happy for the extra pay, as they've been very skimpy with hours of late. It'll allow me to better add to my music collection. *grins* Speaking of which, I've really managed to add greatly to my collection of music from Minneapolis. I'm big into the Minneapolis Sound, and not just because I'm from here. It all started when I was a teenager, and my sister gave me two LPs, one Prince double LP called "1999" and the other "The Glamorous Life," Sheila E.'s first album. I loved them from the start. Now, I have the first three albums by The Time; some Prince albums, including the rare "Crystal Ball" album; Wendy & Lisa's first two solo albums; and soon I hoped to acquire some Madhouse and Vanity/Apollonia 6.
Oh, I also had a birthday recently -- in fact, it was on the 12th. :) I get to celebrate with my family and snuggle Dragon at an Afghani/Uzbeki restaurant in Minneapolis on Sunday.
Well, I've rambled on enough and have given a preview of the possible things to come. Wish me luck on my stories, because my dream is to get published, possibly in Sofawolf's "Anthrolations" series or their "New Tibet" series. Speaking of good stuff, everyone should go see "Stardust." The film was spectacular, and I plan to go see it again. :P
Take care, fuzzies. I'm sure you'll see me prowling around and looking cute. *chuckles*
