yeah apparently it is a family thing. His two sister's sometimes do it and his father always did it. Though the video making its' way onto the internet has made him a sensation. He apparently does it or learned about it for food. When the keepers bring out fruit if he walks upright he can use both hands to carry fruit and gets more of it. All Gorillas can walk upright to some extent but this family especially the males seem to do it better and far more often. I have no idea if it is a genetic quirk that allows them to do it so well or just something the father learned for food and the kids copied.
