My Birthday Weekend-the good, the bad and the ugly...
Overall, I could not asked for a better celebration weekend than the one I got this year for my birthday. It started saturday morning and went all the way thru sunday night and I am still recovering! Over that time though, as the title infers, there was good stuff, bnad stuff, and just plain ugly stuff. Thankfully the good was the most plentiful :)
The good:
I got to spend the whole weekend in one of my fave places: Las Vegas! I have not been there for over a year, and we definitely made up for lost time. I got to see the MGM lions up close (pics to be uploaded later), got an adorable lion cub souvenir plushie, got to go to the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur for my b-day dinner, got very nommy fudge, got all sorta of freebies for my bday from the various casinos, and even had the video poker machines wishing me a happy bday!*giggle*
The bad:
Well it is Vegas so we did some gambling, and for the first time we didn't come home with more than we went with. It sucked, but overall I still did have fun at the tables, though I tended to do better when my mate wasn't with me. It felt a bit too short, especially since I was on a bit of a winning streak sunday before we headed home, but my mate was out of money, and getting bored, so home we went.
The ugly:
It figures the one weekend I am out of town and unable to watch the forum much that one person manages to piss off damn near the whole board. This person's posts are responsible for the locking of at least 4 topics in 48 hours, and created quite a bit of drama on the board. The other mods, admins and I are working on dealing with the aftermath, and hopefully will get resolved in the next couple days, but damn... I put the person on warning over a week ago fearing something would happen, but never expected it to get this bad. Times like this I hate being a mod, but behavior like that cannot and will not be tolerated by anyone. If I have to be the bad guy, so be it, especially if it means that the rest of the board will run more smoothly for it.
On a more positive note though, when I finally checked in with my facebook(damn am I behind on some of my games), I had a ton of greetings there as well, which really made me smile this morning and helped counterbalance the ugly I found out about this weekend. I truly believe that no matter how bad you think something gets, there is always something or someone that will make the silverlining all the easier to see. :)

P.S. thank you again to everyone that wished me well for my bday, I love you all!!!
