A noble and worthy cause.

I just wish to warn you that this will probably be a waste of your time.
Fellows, there is something I must bring your attention too.
Something that has been too long neglected, and denied the respect something so sacred, by reason of its existance, deserves.
I am, of course, speaking about the :1 emote.
Such power, it perveys, such cold indifference, condescending confusion, and ironic splendour. It's a multi-layered emotion with far reaching worth and value.
Yet under the radar it flies. Neglected, lost.
In a voice stifled and drowned out by the the roaring sea of more 'conventional' smilies, it desperately yearns, 'forget me not'.
And I, for one, am heeding this call.
Rally, fellow artists, veteran and rookie alike! Make manifest the glory of :1. Put pen to paper, talent to tablet, and bring this crusade to the canvas
in what could easilly be the noblest cause of this young decade. :1 deserves no less. :1 has given us too much.
Alone we are few, but together we have the power to save a life.
My watchers. My Loyal watchers. If nothing is neglected, and all perform their duty in ernest, then we can keep alive this tragic smily.
We shall go to the end, we shall use it in chats.
We shall use it in role plays, emails and status-updates.
We shall use it with naught but growing confidence and pride, as we defend its noble existence, whatever the costs may be.
We shall use it in blogs, facebook and twitter.
We shall never let it die, and even if we, which I not for a second believe, should falter in our cause, repressed and silenced, then our brothers beyond the seas, armed and guarded by their divine purpose, will carry on our struggle until, in God's good time, the new net-speak comes with power and might to liberate and rescue the old.
And we emerge triumphant.
