Cute little meme that's going around. This was stolen from a few different people so I could get a bunch of questions. hehe.
Q: What is the program you use?
A: None. I'm almost purely a traditional artist. Which means if you see anything digital, it's either MS Paint or my hubby colored it for me. ^_^
Q: Who is your biggest inspiration?
A: I'm . . . not sure. >_>;
Q: When did you start drawing?
A: I've drawn since I was a little kid, although I didn't really take it seriously until a year or so ago, I guess. Maybe a bit more than that. But I've been doodling for ages.
Q: What is your favorite medium?
A: Pencils and color pencils. ^_^
Q: Do you have any art education?
A: A couple of classes in grade school and one art class in college (a fundamentals class). I definitely suggest it. ^_^
Q: What kind of music do you listen to while you work?
A: Pandora radio, it is your friend.
Q: How long to you practice drawing every day?
A: Not as long as I should be. I do a little bit of artwork each day but it varies from a few minutes to probably a couple of hours if I'm coloring something.
Q: Last thing you drew today?
A: Today? Nothing yet. Last thing I worked on is a Valentine's Day picture. ^_^
Q: What you want to draw right this minute?
A: Not what what I'm suppose to be. ^_^; Today I'm suppose to color a picture, ink another one, and do a still life drawing. >_<
Q: Which artists would you say are your biggest influences?
A: A lot of them. XP
Q: Do you have any particular likes/dislikes when it comes to art styles? (in relation to inspirations)
A: Hard question. Dislikes, I am not a fan of noodle limbs. >_< As for likes, I like some anime-like styles but one of my favorites is old comic books/comic strips. That's what I grew up with and they have a special place in my heart.
Q: What's your favorite subject to draw?
A: Animals, for sure. Including anthros, which I find I am drawing more of at this point. It's hard to say which I like more at this point.
Q: How do make your lineart so smooth and sexy?
A: Bwahahahaha! I wish!
Q: What was the hardest thing you have ever had to draw as an artist?
A: Honestly? Hair. >_< So much trouble for some reason to look natural. Also struggling to draw human heads. >_< And learning to draw multiple characters interacting with each other. Particularly in more mature settings, which is honestly giving me a lot more trouble than I feel it should be. >_<
Q: What species are you the best at drawing and how hard is it to draw other species you're not so good at?
A: Canines. That's what I've drawn the most and what I feel most comfortable drawing. Other species are harder, but less so. Mostly because my sister, who I love dearly but can be a pain at times, kept pointing out that my bats looked like dogs. And so did my cats. And everything else I drew. So I tried to get better about it. Although some species are harder than others.
Q: Do you begin with gesture drawings/roughs/thumbnails, or do you take an idea and run with it?
A: Usually, I don't. I just jump right on in. Although I'm starting to get into doing thumbnails to help me figure out WTF am I doing. XP
Q: If you do traditional work, what is your prefered brand of markers or pencils?
A: Faber Castell Polychromos color pencils. They are one of my loves. <3 Seriously, they are amazing.
Q: What is the color palette you feel you are most comfortable with?
A: Black and white. XP I dunno.
Q: If you choose to reference something, what is the one thing you find yourself referencing the most?
A: Uhhhhhh, I have no idea. >_< Pictures of poses mostly, I think.
Q: Has there been inspirations that have moved your style of art in one direction or another?
A: I'm sure there has been. Although not sure what specifically. I know that animes played a part, particularly in the way I draw eyes. But I'm sure that every artist I watch influences me one way or another.
Q: Have you taken any art classes that helped you get things right? or did you just experiment on your own?
A: Again, I've taken some. I've also read books, learned on my own, and learned from other amazing artists. It's a combination, I guess.
Q: Since you use mechanical pencil, what size lead do you use?
A: Whatever the basic, everyday kind is. I don't pay as much attention to it as I probably should. ^_^;
