Here's a song I wrote in the last month. For those of you who are in the know about what's been going on in my life, you'll understand why it is the way it is.


When the preacher man first saw me,
you know he crossed himself

the preacher crossed himself
Preacher man told my mother,
I'm sorry, but this poor boy's bound for hell

Got the devil looking for me
you know he knows my name.

all I hear is crackling flames.

Devil chases me to dive bars,
where you know I drink alone.
Devil chases me to low-down bars,
where I'm bound to drink alone.
I'm only happy with my head in a bottle,
or behind a microphone.

Doesn't matter who I try an' help,
Ain't a single soul I can save.
The devil owns me, I burn what I touch,
you know I am his slave.
When the preacher lays me to rest, he'll say,
"Shame on you, and shame on your grave."
