well, i don't have paypal account and can't sell my art and nobody likes it enough to even want to buy. everybody wants hot yiffy over my pics. i understand it sucks to have no buyers. even if i make yiffy pics, people still don't like them. people on this site are just to picky. if somebody would like to buy from me it would make me happy and feel like artist. i understand how you feel.

Well to be honest you're going to need a lot more practice drawing. People forget how much pure work this is and how much time it takes. I may have slipped into photography fairly easily and fairly quickly but on the other hand I've been in the art world, soaking in it, for longer than most artists on this site have been alive! Still though, I look at my first efforts and wince sometimes.

your correct i do need more pracitce since other really outshine me in pure talent. but people really have lost the understanding how hard it is to make art and think every piece somebody makes just takes a few mintues to make. thats not the case. your pictures look like you perpare time and set up the right stuff to get them just perfect. i belive people just don't see that. i feel it wrong since you tell about your effots to make your photos and people just seem to ieninore your talents. when i look my first effots am surpised how far i came alone and just wonder.

*blush* Well yah, it is more than just snapping a pic. I've got up at 4:30 in the morning to be at the place at the right time to get those beaver pics and trudged a mile over a frozen lake to get the ice pictures. Then there's just the sheer number of pictures. I've got over 3,000 each from both Steep Rock and the local beach. Then there's the sorting and post-processing. Yah, it adds up. I do envy those who can draw as all they need is a pencil and a piece of paper. Nah, I'm not ignored by any means. I love the compliments I get and I love bringing a bit of natural beauty into people's lives.

your welcome, i love nature alot and i like your pictures for give a true view at nature. drawings are nice, but nothing before natural beauty. for me i want my drawings to bring a simile to peoples faces.

There's a good reason I'm on disability and it's unlikely (barring some rather radical medical breakthroughs) that I'll have anything like a real job ever again so this is it I'm afraid. One does what one can.

I've no doubt that I'll eventually begin to get a bit of a rep and some sales but it's just well, pissing me off right now as you've gathered for a number of reasons. I just saw someone get in pure donations about what I've got to live on in a month because their dog was ill. I don't begrudge them that and they have my sympathy but my own situation ain't so hot either.

People around here tend to be pretty generous when they can be. But have you ever seen another artists journal when they're selling stuff? half the responses are, "I want to buy but I don't have any money"

These are beautiful enough to be in a stock photography catalogue. Would you like a referral to an stock photography vendor? Always thought that would be a great way to earn income, but I don't have your eye and talent for this work.

I've looked into stock photography of course but there's a number of reasons it ain't gonna happen. The biggest reason is that the stock stuff is anything but artistic. It's always something like a specific scene or subject, something that adds to some text in an article or advertisement. Also the technical demands as far as picture quality are well beyond what I can do. You're talking thousands of bucks in equipment just to start! Another thing is that well, the competition is horrendous. Everyone starts out thinking that that's how they'll shoe-horn their way in. Thanks for the offer though but yah, as you can see I've checked it all out.

I believe you. That's a shame. If only furry artists would consider Paypal-ing you a few bucks for the privilege of using your photos as backgrounds in their art.

Y'know, when the whole "Photobucket" thing was going on I was set to argue that my stuff would be great for just that. I found out later that there were those that pointed out my stuff as an example of why the rules should be kept lax. I found that enormously flattering of course, made me feel absolutely on top of the world!

Any artist who sells their work (even the ones who draw porn) will tell you that 'Wow, I really love your work' does not automatically translate to 'Here, have some money'. Of course sexual content gets lots of attention... that's true of all humanity, not just furries. Seriously, which DVD do you think sold more copies, 'Remains of the Day' or 'Girls Gone Wild'?

Yah I know, but you also know that the sales are there. I don't think that I'll suddenly get a landslide of anything but a nibble once in a while would do me wonders.

I think you may have been expecting too much. I know how disappointed you probably feel, but you can't look at a lack of sales as an indication of whether or not people enjoy your work. It's not easy to sell anything, much less photo prints on a niche-audience website.

Have you considered listing your prints on Ebay? You'll be reaching a larger market, if nothing else.

Oh I know they enjoy them it's just that well, what I'm asking for is less than a 6-pack of beer. Funny thing about Ebay... there's no categories for photography. EVERYTHING is lumped in together. Weird! Maybe I should browse their categories more.

This is why I dont even bother to try to sell any of my oils here,people like them but thay will never pay money for them,well not what I want anyway.

Ah thanks. Your stuff should command three figures though and oils aren't exactly easy to slip in the mail. Speaking of mail, I'd be well prepared just to email you the files if you want to have them run off yourself. I refuse to live in a world where trust isn't an option, or natural.

Things aren't as bad as I make em, I was just kinda pissed that I didn't get one single nibble from those LJ posts. Thus far, my life has been pretty easy and mundane. I almost wish I had a bit more of a struggle because in the end, I believe it's our struggles that make us stronger people. But then again, I'm still a kidlet by most standards, even if I AM legal age XD *rambling now*

I think you need to be advertising in different markets, a place that actually appreciates photography. The furry fandom really isn't that place.
