I also find that watching old-ass action movies is kind of inspiring, back when even an action movie had to have a solid story that was well executed, not just "Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon run around being crazy and blow shit up" (Yeah, I hated that Taxi movie.)

Ask your friends what they're doing. Then draw them (or another character) in that situation. You never know what answers you'll get when you ask your friends what they're up to.

Make a habit of it and write the ideas down! Great stuff can emerge. :)
