First Journal Entry - Unicorn Dreams
This is my very first journal entry here on Fur Affinity, despite having an account here for several years now. My primary journal is on LiveJournal, but I had something extra-special that I felt was important to post here as well, and could likely be understood and appreciated by others in the Furry world...
Last night, during the fitful moments that I was able to get some sleep (thanks to someone's snoring!) I had one of my very rare, and incredibly fantastic "Unicorn Dreams!" I am blessed (and sometimes cursed) by being one of those people who dream with full sensory perception. I dream in full colour, full sound; I can see, hear, feel, smell, and taste everything in my dreams. Rarely, I will even have a sixth-sense power in my dreams.
Last night was one of my ultra-rare Unicorn dreams; a dream where I am a true four-hooved Unicorn, doing whatever it is that Unicorns do. In this dream, I was running. Not running away from anything, nor to anything, but running for the sheer pleasure of it - as one will often see horses do out in their pastures!
When the dream started, I was human - just walking along over a grassy field. It may have been one of my own fields (I don't know for sure, as is the way with dreams) but it was a bright and sunny day, perhaps in the spring or late fall, as the grass was yellow rather than green. But the sky was a bright blue, and the warmth of the sunshine was wonderful. I remember walking, and then thinking "It is time to run!" - again, not in fear or need, but just for the pleasure of it! My stride increased, and then my mind shouted "NOW!!!"
And that is when the transformation came!!!
I felt a surge of power through my body (gads! I'm tingling all over even as I write this!) and I felt myself leaning forward, leaping into the new form! It was a smooth, graceful, yet powerful and sudden transformation. So fast that it occured during a running leap, yet so smooth that it was.... well.... Just what it should be - MAGICAL!!!
As I sprang forward, I felt my arms lengthen and shift into powerful hooved forelegs, my body and neck lengthened, and my vision changed. I felt my hooves - all four of them now, hitting the ground in the perfect rhythm of a full-out gallop! How can I even begin describe how this feels? A person riding a horse might have some idea as to the motion, but it is not the same thing as actually being the horse (or Unicorn in this case) and feeling that incredible power! To feel the ground pounding under your hooves, the wind rippling through your mane and tail! If only there were a way to truly share this sensation with you, my dear readers! This was incredible, but there was more!
Something that had never happened before, in all of my previous Unicorn Dreams...
This time, as I ran for the sheer pleasure of running...
I spread my wings, and I FLEW!!!!
(and that's when I woke up!)

I sometimes remember bits, and when I do I try to write what I recall down. Unfortunately, dreams tend to fade fast.
