Unstable PC
Just recently I put in some new RAM and the PC has gone haywire, BSODs all round and lots of random codes I don't know like FFFFFFFFF0000000X2 something something and well, I believe it could be hard drive problems as gaming before had problems loading files saying they were corrupted constantly despite renewed versions through another download of a game or fresh install.
Im hoping a clean swipe and reinstall of maybe Windows XP might subside the problems until I can pinpoint what it is. RAM is brand new and unlikely to be faulty, Graphics card only came last month. PSU has been working fine, the motherboard, processor and hard drives are the only things left from this 4-5 year old PC. And Im having problems with memory.
Also made up my mind. The gun/air rifles club is only open on one day of the week that I can find a reasonable time to operate and attend but public transport says no. You cannot have a bus/train at that time in that area. So I'll definitely going to devote time to archery club if I get an email back saying what time it's open and the membership fees.

For the power supply, download your motherboard utility to monitor your voltages while gaming. Recently, with my new upgrade, I discovered that PSU is probably not good enough because of capacitors aging. It's almost 4 years after all and my computer runs 24/7. Use this PSU wattage calculator to find out if yours is good enough for your current components:

You're using a PC.
Long answer to your problem:
It's because you're running Windows 7 on a 5 year old computer. We all know Windows demands that you have a billion gigs of RAM and a 9GHz $7000 PC with all sorts of crazy parts to work.
Solution:
Try out a fresh Windows XP SP2 install, or if you're in the mood to upgrade, Apple just released a new line of Macbook Pros, all easily twice as powerful as last Year's models, with new LightPeak tech and i7 processors are standard. Lenovo's computers are also all really good, and can be Hackintoshed.
Yes, the easiest of all solution would be to get a Mac, but it would be at a price. And let's not forget something, Garrus likes to play games. :P
Games? You do know that Mac has Steam now, right? Also, a good number of the games coming out anymore are for both Mac and PC. Spending thousands on a machine just to play games is stupid in my opinion, no matter what you get, but a Mac is going to be cheaper and far more reliable for far longer than any PC from any manufacturer (except maybe Lenovo or Dell, though their tech support leaves a lot to be desired).
1- They don't offer any reasonable desktop gaming solution.
The iMac only has an HD5670 to offer.

You see the HD5770 down below? Well, the HD5670 performs 50% less than the HD5770.
If you want some reasonable gaming performance, you need to go to the Mac Pro... but it starts at $2500 and they only upgraded the video card for an HD5770. You don't even have a display for this price.
2- Their upgrade options are horribly overpriced.
Adding an HD5770 in the Mac Pro? $250! Last time I checked, this video card goes around $100-$125.
Yes, I'm aware of Steam offering more and more Mac compatible games, but the choice is still limited.
For work, if I ever need to have a laptop, I won't mind having a Mac. The Macbook Pro line has a nice design, they are robust and offer nice performances. For gaming, Apple still have good way to go. Perhaps when Steve Jobs will die that will change. I wonder if he was really sad when he hasn't received his knighthood title from the queen. XD;
Virus? Been months or perhaps years I havent got any. Just don't click any link you receive on MSN or in your mails and just don't use Internet Explorer. :X
Video cards are the biggest laughable waste of money of all. Buy a PS3 already! Who needs a $600 video card? Who even needs a $250 one?
Heck i've used pcs for my whole life (pretty much) and the only times i've had to reload the os is because of something *I* messed up in the settings or whatnot myself, no virus involved. And most of my machines (at least for a while they were) secondhand machines.
I was wrong D:
Fortunately if they're new sticks the likelyhood of a simple Return-to-Manufacturer-Authorization (the much-fabled RMA) process is very high. Dead on arrival RAM is frighteningly common.
I hope it gets sorted soon, I'd offer advice but I am far from being a computer expert :P
