Nomads of Izabane: Fireflies
The sun was beginning to set under the snowy mountains. The nomads had finally reached their destination: the beautiful fields of Biroak. This was the main living area of the pack. A place where pups were raised, and the old lived in peace. Fireflies danced around the air, sparking the excitement of the previously tired pups. Kara was the first to leave the safety of Ahra's legs, then came Jerim, and finally Brenin.
Other wolves were present in the spacious field. Their young as care-free as the three orphans. A small pack of midgets was soon formed as the various pups decided to join in the fun of chasing fireflies. It was now night; the moon was large and full in the cloudless sky. The pups played around the safety of the close watching adults.
In a gust of wind, Dask joined the group. He had been hunting in the nearby forest. a large deer was enclosed in his even larger mouth. the smell of fresh meat ended the game of chase; the three pups were soon in front of the group, awaiting their share of the kill.
Half an hour later, bellies round and full, the pups stretched out next to Ahra, who was just finishing her own ration of deer meat. Dask, still in his dragon form, curled up next to Ahra and the pups. The pups gave a warm "hello 'yip'" and were out.
within the next few hours, the field went silent. The nocturnal were out hunting, and the diurnal were sound asleep. And the fireflies still danced around the night sky.
