I'm guessing people are making assumptions about you based on what you are commissioned to do? People get worked up and judgmental over stupid stuff, even what a character is wearing. Eh, what can you do. Somebody is going to have a problem no matter what it is. Most are adult enough to keep their trap shut if they don't approve of a particular piece and they know that commissioned work doesn't reflect the artist's interests.
