Just how 'Furry' are you in real life?

I won't mention much about my job, besides the fact that it occasionally has me involved with businesses, both owners and employees, but something strange occurred while working with one of these businesses. The person I was dealing with was named "Canis Lupus", seriously, I had to doublecheck but that was what was entered for his name in representing his business. (for those of you who don't know, Canis Lupus means Gray Wolf) Before you think "maybe that's his real name" or "maybe he's a Native American", I'll also mention I could also see his email address, which included the word "yiff" in it.
This was someone who had the business he worked for in his information, so I have to assume his business was in some way work related, so it makes me wonder, just how into the fandom are some people? Are there other people who go that far? Who go by their fursona at work or in professional situations? I know I don't ask to be called DarkMask at work, although it is known I 'like' raccoons (but I assume people just think its the same way people like koalas or elephants) and I carry a raccoon plush keychain in my pocket, but that's about it.
So I wonder, is this normal? Are other people more lax about keeping their fursona and real life separate than I would have assumed?

then again, i'm not very revealing about myself at all. nobody knows that much about me, hell, even my closest friends know little about me other than random trivial things. the only people who know i'm gay are the people who have specifically asked (outside FA, i mean. i don't care about online. yay anonymity). goes the same for furry. you'd never know it, and i'm not going to announce it.
As for personal life. My mother knows I'm a furry. Last time I was home for christmas that tyra banks episode came on with the couple who like to fuck in fursuits. She calls out "Oh, hey! Look it's some furries on tv" I just facepalmed and informed my mother that in the 'furry community' they got a lot of flak for that. Naturally, the sexual aspect of the furry fandom stays out of conversations.. it's about as appropriate to talk about that as anything else sexual with your parents.
It differs for some, but to me, telling someone you're into furry isn;t quite the same as admitting some other hobbies you have.
No one needs to know that shit. :3
if theres so much passion about it, at least dont rush in the door, because there are people out there who are waiting for that, and many do it silently, and they have little to loose as well
but as always, with the right friends you can always have the great parties, why not at work then,
general timidness and other projects I have (which are untimid enough) take my time, so I dont mind how fantasy/romance (Im not per se a furry, just attracted to the mindset) COULD affect my public life, so It just boils down to playing the deck right again, I guess.
