Well it started as a conversation with my boyfriend because I had been making him watch RuPaul's Drag Race with me (Season 4) and he was really getting into it, so I decided to make it up as kind of a game where I would figure out what his Drag Queen name would be if he had one.
Since his fursona is sort of a demonically tainted Bat-Rat, I tried to figure out something that would fit in with that. For his rat half, I instantly thought of Basil of Baker Street from the Great Mouse Detective, since Revan loved that movie as a kid, but since Basil is too masculine sounding, he feminized it into Bazelle.
After that it was difficult thinking to come up with his second name. Revan likes Norse and Egyptian mythology, so for awhile we tossed around the idea of using the goddesses of beauty from those mythologies, Hathor for the Egyptian goddess of beauty, or Freyja for the Norse goddess of beauty, but he didn't like either of those.
He finally decided on his own his first name as a Drag Queen would be Bacardi, since he loves bats and loves Bacardi rum. And thus, BlackRevan's Drag Name ended up as Bacardi Bazelle, after the rum that uses a bat as it's mascot, and the feminized version of Basil of Baker Street from the Great Mouse Detective.
My Drag Name was a lot less inspired. I love raccoons so I always played around with the idea of using something raccoon themed as my Drag Name, and even once considered being a one-name queen Tanuki ... then Revan said "You should be Tanuki Kabuki" and I was like " ... son of a bitch, now I can't get that out of my head. Tanuki Kabuki it is!"
Yeah ... damnit! I was thinking of just using "Tanuki" on it's own, like a one-named Cher name, but then my damn boyfriend had to give me Tanuki Kabuki as an option (mostly as a joke) and the damn name stuck! XD
They sounds very suitable as Drag Queen names and I really like the japanese touch of yours. The name of your boyfriend sounds... a little bit french, but more like from an entertainer in an western saloon!)
