Outline first. That way while you're coloring, annoying pencil smudges won't appear so often.

for High detail outlining where i need real small lines i use a brand called Pigma Micron. It comes in a set. Very high quality pens for alot of detail in lil spots... Example:

The Shira i drew was only about 5 inches tall... yet i detailed the clothes excellently...
If its just standard outlines, use a sharpie ultra fine point.

Copic Markers.

Microns are good, they come in all different sizes and colores, but I stick with Staedtler pigment liners.

You can get a 4 pack of Staedtler's at office max or office depot for 10 bucks.


mircon, you may have to vist a micheals or aaron brothers or an art supply.

Sharpies or microns are good choices, and if you want the outlines pretty bold and noticable, best to color them first then outline them.

Just for fun, try to find a way to colour without outlining... =P

go to hobby lobby or whatever the crafts store that is near you and chose one. personally i use faber castell

I use felt tip pens, but sharpies work just as well, it depends on how thick you want the lining to be. Pen isn't smart to use, it drains the ink when you put it over pencil (i learned that the hard way) but outline, then color. (well. I do that anyways. T_T)
