I don't even understand what he's getting at either. The iPad and e-books don't do a thing for me. I'd much, much, much rather have a book or magazine in my hands than read one of them electronically.

The e-book is great for people who travel a lot and can't carry a lot of stuff, so in a sense, it is progress. I have to believe that Borders is suffering from poor business practice anyway. You don't hear about Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million having these problems: just Borders.

Yeah that is true. Then again look at Ultimate Electronics company. They only lasted half a year and had to shut down. Why? Because they tried to run a charity drive the instant they opened up for business. I mean isn't it important to establish a stable business first before doing anything like that? I commend their efforts but kinda stupid.

Actually, Ultimate electronics was around for about as long as I was diabetic, maybe even longer (I remember seeing them going to my diabetes clinic in 2000). Just thought to let you know.

Believe it or not, they went on bankruptcy three times since then and had to shut down many times. They simply kept trying to come back but I guess end up in failure. Some stores stay open for their own business I guess much like Blockbuster which has gone under, I still see a few places still open around here.

Oh and btw, my mistake, this company has gone bankrupt the second time in 6 years owing Video Products Distributors, $6.1 million; Valassis Communications Inc., $5.6 million; New Age Electronics/Synnex, $5.5 million; and Sony Electronics Inc., $4.8 million. *sigh* And people wonder why we're so much in debt.

Hear hear! Ya know, there once was a time not too long ago where people used ta buy games, buy books, buy magazines, buy art. They used ta go out ta Best Buy or Waldenbooks an' stuff an' buy PHYSICAL OBJECTS. Thanks ta technology, we no longer have ta leave our homes ta do so. We can jus' download everything we want from the internet for about th' same price -- often times LESS! As it is, many of us shop from home, be it games, books, or even food. In the not-too-distant future, we may not even have ta leave home ta WORK. Sounds nice, right? Maybe... If ya like not botherin' with social interactions. Xenophobes in general could pro'ly benefit from it. I, fer one, LIKE social interactions.

Oh, and uh... yeah, that jobs thing too, I s'pose. Wurp. :x

On the subject of Borders--they just didn't keeps up with the times. Barnes & Noble did, they stayed ahead of the game, and Borders failed. That's how capitalism works, folks.
