Hey shufflers! It's
here. If you're new to the group and wondering what we are all about, please check out the group's profile information for clarification. I will be answering some questions about the group in this journal as well.
1. How do I join?
Click the +Watch button and you're in! Help spread awareness by adding the group icon to your page in one of two ways:
Without spaces, add : iconshufflefurs : or : shufflefursicon :
Tell your friends about us and help us expand the group!
2. How do I submit art/videos?
Send us a note with your art/video and we will happily post it to the group for others to enjoy. We will credit you, of course. Videos are slightly more tricky, so please contact
pilot or if you can transcode your video into an .SWF file (via a YouTube converter) that would be great. We can also link your video in an FA submission as well.
For videos, please specify whether or not you would like our group members to offer constructive criticism on your shuffle. One benefit of being a part of
is that we have a wide range of shufflers with different skill levels ranging from beginners to advanced here to help you improve every step of the way.
3. I want to shuffle! Where do I start?
I would recommend watching the YouTube video entitled "HARDSTYLE SHUFFLE TUTORIAL(LEARN IN 6 STEPS HOW TO DANCE IT)" which is located in the group's profile description. My personal advice to new shufflers is to take it slow. Learn the two-step motion until you can build up your rhythm enough to keep up with the beat; don't ever rush it! This is a common mistake most beginners make and they end up learning incorrectly. Remember that the running man is half hop, half slide. The side-to-side, heel-to-toe movement (called the Shuffle) can be practiced virtually anywhere; I used to practice it under my school desk while listening to boring lectures. Lastly, consider the following to improve your shuffle once you have mastered the core movements (running man + shuffle):
Spins
Kicks
Arm movements
Head bobbing
Jumps
Slides
Moonwalk
Other tricks
Most importantly: never give up.
4. Will you two be attending any conventions?
Yes, we will! We already attended FWA'11 and we plan on making it to AC'11. You can catch Dexi and I at the raves--we usually hit 'em all up. We may have a shuffle meetup sometime during Anthrocon. More details on that later.
If you have any more questions, please post a comment below or send the group a note/send a note to Pilot or Dexistomors. Thank you all for being awesome and keep shuffling!

Any European conventions?

We don't know what the future holds, but for now attending a EU convention is not within our budget; however, if you are interested in starting an EU shufflefurs meetup, you are free to do so! :}
