Are you a furry?
Yeah, pretty much. I fell into the fandom for the art, and stayed for the people. Still consider myself a bit distant at times, but I'm getting over that with time.
If you have a Spouse/SO - Is he/she a furry too?
I have no mate/spouse/SO/bf/gf, or any other relations... we'll see how that goes.
How long have you been in the community
Started getting into furry art about 6 or 7 years ago, but have only considered myself a furry for about 9 months.
How did you find furry?
A friend of mine introduced me to the art, and I fell in love with it.
What's your reason for furry (what interested you to get into the community)?
I enjoy the people (though some are dicks). There's a sort of common unity among furries that is hard to find elsewhere, and I love it.
What's Furry to you?
It's part art/literary genre and part social group. Although I still find myself saying "fucking furries" on a fairly frequent basis. Doubt that will change.
If someone found out you're a furry and asked you about it how would you respond?
I'd have to tell them that it's mostly an art genre, but that they should come meet some of the local furs. We're fun people.
What are your favorite aspects of our community?
People are so damn FRIENDLY! I mean, some are dicks, and some want to be fucked by everything that moves, but the vast majority are awesome people that love cuddling.
Do you use any furry terms? (i.e. yiff, paws, murr?)
I refer to my nails as "talons", I mention purring (never murring though), and sometimes refer to hands and feet as "paws". Never liked the term "yiff", however.
What do you wish furry was NOT associated with?
Horrible social deviance.
How strongly do you feel about someone bashing the community as a whole?
There is always going to be some person or group of people bashing any given group at any given time. Furries get a lot of heat because of negative portayals in media, but they aren't any more hated than gays, pagans, jews, buddhists, vegans, hippies, blacks, or arabs. I'd say we're all in the same boat, and everybody can just deal with it.
How strongly do you feel about anyone bashing you yourself for your interest based on the media's aspect of what furry is?
I'd say that they can deal with it, because I'm quite happy, and my ego is far too large to be broken down by some random ass-hole.
We all know furries have alot of sexual aspects in this fandom, What's your opinion on it?
Sex is a wonderful thing. By all means, have sex, enjoy sex, and draw all the sex that you want. Some people just need to remember that there's more to life than hot yiffy action.
What is/are your fursona(s)?
I've never like the term "fursona"... I much prefer "avatar" or "character", but my fursona is a shape-shifty dapper dragon named Kieunta. He's a doctor, and he likes to be naked and sip fine wine. oh, and his tail jingles like a bell.
Do you have any fetishes that pertain to the fandom?
Aside from random furry porn? I rather like biting and scratching, and I find it a little sexy when people make arffs and stuff, but otherwise nothing that is really dominated by furries. Speaking of domination, I enjoy a bit of bdsm too... just light things like collars and cuffs }:3
If you could magically morph into your fursona would you?
Hell yes! I'd love to be a confusing, shifty, random ball of jingly dragon!
Do you believe you have a spirit animal?
Yes. I believe that ravens watch out for me. Any time something good happens or is about to happen I see 2 or 3 ravens flying around, crowing at me.
What other fanbases/groups are you a part of?
I'm a gamer... not just video games, but pen-and-paper style. I'm actually working on a game system and campaign setting for said system at the moment, and hope to have it published later this year.
Anthro/Feral, Therian or Kemonomimi (Not a furry, just a human with animal ears and a tail)?
Anthro, sometimes feral (because Kieunta is shape-shifty), and I'm personally a therian.
Are you a fursuiter? If yes, how many do you own? If No, do you ever plan on being a suiter?
Not currently, and I have no plans on getting a fursuit in the given future. I might consider it farther down the road, but Kieunta's tail will be more than a little difficult to deal with.
How many of your friends are furry?
About half of my current group of friends are furries. Though I tend to hand out with the furries more than the non-furries, but that's mostly due to scheduling concerns.
How many pets do you own, if any?
No pets at the moment (apartment won't allow them), but I LOVE cats. Like a lot... if I could have a bunch of cats that didn't shed, urinate, defecate, or eat, then I'd be the crazy cat man. At some point I'd love to have a german shephard or husky, but that'll have to wait til I have a house with a yard.
Aside from furry what other interests do you have?
Gaming, art, music, writing, cooking, politics, and religion.
Are you confident enough in yourself to say that you're a fur, no matter what the media says?
Yes, but only because I'm supported by an ego roughly the size of New Zealand
Do you attend any cons? If no, would you attend any cons? If yes, which cons have you been to?
I haven't been to any cons yet, but I'm looking forward to attending Califur (this summer) and Further Confusion (next spring).
Do you go to local meetups(bowling, public outings...etc)?
As often as possible.
Have you ever attended a furry party? If no, would you attend one?
A couple times, and they're quite fun. Though I tend to drink too much on an empty stomach (sorry, Toddy!). Methinks I need to just cook some awesome food when I'm at the next one.
Have you ever met up with a fur you talked to online?
Yes, but they've all been local.
What furry websites do you attend?
Almost exclusively FA, but I wade through Inkbunny on rare occasions.
What non furry websites do you frequent?
Everything google, Facebook, Youtube, Pandora, TMCC (for college stuff), UNR (also for college stuff), MSNBC, CNN, FOX, and quite a few webcomic sites (XKCD and Space Trawler are my favorites).
Has the fandom done anything for you that you're thankful for? Has it taught you anything or brought you anything you treasure greatly?
It's definitely helped me come out of my shell. I used to be very passive and quiet about myself (being gay and furry), but having friends that speak loudly about furry things in public has helped immensely. It also helps being around a group of such open and friendly people. The local furs are also great about helping if something needs done, so that's a huge plus also.
